sound clip?

No. It runs fine, have a slight backfire every now and then but even still, its not often. Actually runs a little better (seems to pull harder) because it holds boost better, doesnt leak like the stock unit. The only reason I had to go VTA is because I could not angle the BOV to accept the recirc tube. I think its because of the intake though; the way its angled. People say it will run rich between shifts and ruin your cat. converter, but our cars run pig rich anyways...so...its up to you......i have my own opinion, but its just me, we'll see in a couple thousand miles...

it honestly sounds good! I tried venting mine and drove to work like that once and it sounded sick but it did stall 3-4 times or so as the idle got pretty low. I am pondering the turbo xs 50/50 but have not found a video of that to hear what that sounds like, at least a good driving video. I like it loud as s***!

any chance of a sound clip?

got the sound clips today while at work, took 4 of them had my friend use my camera to record it

Here they are:
-1 driveby recirculated

-1 driveby vta
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jple4fGlIrQ
-1 parked with hood up recirculated

-1 parked hood up vta

Remember its not the real Greddy type-s so it sounds like the whoosh of a Greddy type rs for the most part, still pretty cool and cheap! I wish it made the actual whistle of the real Greddy Type S tho, that would kick ass!

wow. this went off to the whole blah blah vs blah blah world. thanks for the sound clip on the 1st response. i ordered the hks ssqv. :)

I would love the turbosmart but its too expensive, I like the turbo xs 50/50 hybrid thats about $180 shipped, but I have not heard it in person or a good sound clip or it. Hard to get something to sound really sick when its recirculated! The Type S I have sounds wicked when VTA, but the car stalled on me 4 times with it :( so i had to recirculate it

This is what I have right now:
street unit atp adapter flange ($30)

the imitation greddy type s bov:

installed (you have to turn the top so that your vaccuum line doesnt hit the hood):

is this the blow off valve you got?

If so, how has it held up so far? Any problems at all with it being a knock off??

Also, to be able to run recirculated, will these be the only things I need??

-Greddy recirculated fitting (from SU)
-Greddy ATP adapter (from SU)

no not really, its prolly the most appropriate thread to get othe bov sounds posted. Bothe the bovs greddy and hks sound good, but the ssqv is just not my style plus everyone around here with a turbo eclipse and honda have it. i prefer to be different, thats why i bought a speed 6. the forge to me just sounds funny, and i know my fiance would gripe about it every time it pooped off. Only other bov i like the sound of is the turbo xs RFL (really f*in loud) but its vta only and i like to have the option for either recirc. or vta.(eekdance)

Someone was saying they were interested in the tsx-h 50/50. I've got it, makes the same sound as your fake type-s at about the same volume and no problems with stalling, backfiring, etc. Just an option ;)

that was me dude, I was pondering buying the 50/50 turbo xs hybrid, but for $180 shipped I wasn't sure if it would be any louder or better than the fake greddy I bought

yeah that's the same one. But if you play around with ebay you can find them much cheaper shipped! I paid $10 and $18 shipping for a total of $28, that one in your link was $42, just search for a cheap one.

I have absolutely no problems with the knock off, it's like any other bov, you need to adjust it to your driving style/tastes. Its easy you just twist the screw on top with an allen head wrench and it will get hard or soft. MUCH EASIER than those other bov/bpv people keep talking about having to add springs, shims, washers.... you dont have to add anything! Just have to turn the top on it so that vacuum line is pointing down away from the hood so your vacuum line doesn't rub.

You only need to get the ATP adapter from SU which was $30 shipped and is great quality and it comes with the screws to mount the bov to it. Trust me I searched ebay even for an adapter flange and only found one out there for cheaper that SU but it doesn't come with screws and it looked cheap as hell so avoid that and just buy the street unit one.

You DONT need the recirculation fitting, the end that sticks out is long enough to put on the stock recirculation tubing without any mods! The recirculation fitting would be if you bought one of the Type-RS models that had that horn that flares outward, you would remove the horn and get the recirc adapter. But if getting the Type-S model you won't need it.

Good luck with everything! Sounds great and pretty cheap!
