Soul Red 2016 Mazda 3 Hood

Hi I have the Soul Red Mazda 3 2016. Wanted to know if anybody has installed the front hood deflector or a partial paint protection film to prevent rock chips etc. I am not confident about the hood deflector as it may accumulate dirt over the years. But anything to protect the premium paint
Any thoughts on what to do?
