It is so cold here in Calgary this morning that I figured I would run out and start the car and warm it up for a few minutes.

Started the car, got out and I couldn't lock the doors with the other key fob or the lock on the doors. I think it just came to me.. I need to lock the door manually, right? Does that lock all the doors?

I guess I might need to invest in a remote car starter to make things easier.:rolleyes:

Or a block heater...or two

And this is why I do not live in Canada. Or anywhere else within spitting distance of the arctic circle for that matter.... -24 isn't even cold, man thats just MEAN.

I live in Calgary too. I havent had any problems with the door locking mechanism in this cold. Maybe you need to grease it up?

According to Environment Canada it was only -33C (-24F) at 9:00 this morning in Calgary.

"only"... Oh man, I love Canadians, damn pinguins ...And I was freezing my butt off when I saw 15F on the temp display in the car the other day :).

I still remember when my Canadian buddy went to study down to Florida and one hot Summer night he dragged his mattress in front of the fridge and open the fridge door so to be able to sleep. Damn A/C was not enough ;)

I'm not sure if this helps, but I usually spray white lithium grease before Winter starts in both cars. Problem is: mine indicates a range of 0F to 300F, only (boom06)

First and only time I’ve ever been frostbitten was on a college ski trip to Tremblant, Quebec. It was on the order of -30*C I think. Had every inch of my skin covered, but the air still found its way into a crack between my helmet and goggles. Left a red mark on my face that lasted a week.

You Canucks are crazy (canada)
