2014 Mazda 3 GS
Hey Mazda forum,

Names Anthony and soon, I'll be the owner of a 2014 Mazda 3 GS (Canadian, I don't know if there are difference)

I had a deal for a Mitsubishi Lancer SE Limited Ed. but I decided to check out the Mazda 3 because the new design caught my eye. Turns out, I liked the 10x better and began to cut a deal for it.

Had a few questions though:
Oil changes can be done myself, as dealer charges ~$75 for it. Does it run on synthetic?

How are the Skyactiv engines in general? My dad had Mazda but it was an 02.

Sucks how the dual exhausts don't show in my trim :(

Will post pictures when I get it!

Good call on going with the Mazda 3 over the Lancer. That is quite an old model, think it came out in 2007! Really needs an update. I think the engines are going to last a long time if they are anything like all of mazda's other engine's. I had a 94 miata and that thing was purring like a kitten at 105000 miles :) Also I do believe they use synthetic in our cars (I just got mine monday myself).

Great to hear that. Technology and engine wise is better, and felt way better sitting on the Mazda 3. I hope it is a good choice, this is my dads birthday present to me. Car should be here in a day or two. Or even today

Just got ours today! Also a Canadian GS but we got a sport as we're used to hatchbacks.

And yes it comes with synthetic from the factory. The manual says the oil should be changed every 8000km/4 months and you can set the infotainment centre to remind you.
