something to laugh about...

i took my friend to go see the titanium mazdaspeed. my friend never even knew about it, anyways...he asks the dealer what kind of turbo it has....the dealer replies with "im not too sure, let me go check"..he goes to the back and then comes back with this answer... "it is a mazda turbo". i totally wanted to crack up.i asked him when they should be recieveing the blue mazdaspeeds and his reply then was "theres a blue:confused: "...anyways i just thought that would be something funny to laugh about.

Well,

you're right it's a GarrettT25, BUT MAZDA put the MSP and a # on the turbine housing... so it's mazda as well LOL

I bet they didn't even know that.

When i went to a dealership and started asking questions, they couldn't tell me; how much boost it ran stock, where the intercooler was mounted, or even where the turbo was in the engine bay!
People who sell cars are not so bright, people who work on them is a different story.

From what I have seen only the higher end car dealers (Audi, Sabb, Volvo, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche) seem to actually know what they are talking about. I think its because the higher end dealers actually enjoy cars.

funny thing is, I've yet to hear of a dealer that has a clue.

That's scarey.

Smail Mazda, Greensburg, PA.

My salesman knew all the basics of who did what on the MSP project. My service manager set up my first appointment based on times that their MazdaSpeed technician would be in because I want an alignment done and they only let the MS tech do those.

I am very happy with my dealer. Much better than those I've heard of that are aligning MSPs to Protege ES specs and otherwise demonstrating their lack of knowledge.

and then before we leave he hands my friend a brochure on the mazdaspeed, and it talks about how the blue and silver will be available late in the year, and also it gives the full name of the turbo. just shows that all the dealers need to do is read a brochure, and then they could know a lot more.

I disagree. The local Mazda dealer here deals Porsches, Saabs, Audis, and Mazdas.

My salesman was telling me about the car and said it has a "Racing Heat" exhaust.

Then when my step-dad asked the difference between the MP3 and the MSP, I quickly replied with "MP3 has no turbo, different way the stuff is trunk mounted, rims, and little exterior/interior differences." The dealer then said "No, the MP3 was turbocharged." I'm like "Sorry man, MP3 had 140 hp NA, MSP has 170 turbo."

After the test drive, we all got out and were behind the car. The salesman looked down at the "Racing Heat" exhaust and said "I didn't know it had that" and he touched the tip of the muffler while at the same time screaming and jumping back. My step-dad was like "Yea I dont think that's a good idea."

Sometimes these people amaze me.

It is slightly sad when you guys take your car in for servicing and most times they need to call or fly a tech in.
Gah.

Oh man.. who'd you talk to over at BlueGrass? I talked to a guy named Steve, who knew about the car, at least some details about the motor.
The first guy i talked to at Huffman said it was Supercharged... sad..

If you couldn't find the turbo or intercooler yourself then you are just as bad.

:flip:
I didn't say i couldn't find it. Where did I say that? All I said was they couldn't find it. I'm not a moron, but thanks. :flip:

My dealer salesman have been very knowlegable about the speed. I think it does have something to do with them selling Benz, Porsche, Range Rover, Jaguar, Audi,Subaru and Mazda.

My dealership rocked about the speeds, IMO because they have one salesman handle all the sales... because he owns one. Before I bought mine he took me out in his, already broken in, and he romped on the car and showed me what it could do. Showed me all about it, even his mods :D Crystal Mazda on Rt 22 NJ.

I had my first service appt. yesterday and I couldn't be happier with the dealership. Their MazdaSpeed tech is a guy named Eddie. He was very interested to hear about the forum. I am emailing him the address so maybe we will see him around.

The coolest part of the visit was talking to the tech and finding out how much he knows about the car. I told him about Joe's FPR (for hesitation) and he was really interested. He even offered to install it if I get one. No warranty voiding problems there.

I can't say enough about the place. Smail Mazda in Greensburg PA, near Pittsburgh. Very knowledgeable, very kewl about mods.

my mazdaspeed tech doesn't know dick about the msp!!! The sales manager knew more about the car!

touching the muffler? gee this guy must be a retard! even a child knows not to put his hand there ...

About a year ago, when i went get some information about, they didn't even know what a MAZDASPEED Protege is...
try that!

The sales re directed me to talk to the fleet manager and at 18 years old, i had to show the fleet manage what car i was talking about on his desk, using his computer! :D

Then he's like ohh!....it looks nice, but i don't think i will be coming to Canada...Then, i made him read the line where i stated there was 250 coming to Canada..and he's like ok! We'll take a deposit from you if you are interested...

And no, i didn't end up buying from that dealership.
