Something not right

MSP curb weight is 2840 IIRC, so you must be one Twiggy Mofo. But ya, im def not running at my greatest potential.

twiggy? lol the number I just got was 2837, but add in myself and a passenger, a sub box... I should probably have it higher, but the theory when I picked that number was that it would give me higher than real numbers... so I wasn't shooting my mouth off and making a fool of myself with faulty claims. if 15.2 is high... idk, i just doubt it.

When i said twiggy i ment like small. if you set your weight at 2900 and the car weighs 2840 then you are 60LBS? tinny little guy lol.

Do you like the iPod dyno thing? have you ever run on a drag or dyno and compaired the results with the iPod. would be interesting to see how good it is.

I set it at that weight so that I would get slower than reality numbers... I'm 160 lbs, and my passenger was probaby 130ish. problem with running it at the strip to compare is you'd have to get it to match up to the tree, which isn't the easiest to do.

ya, but if i could get a full 3" TBE in SS, for clost to the same price as the Vibrant (After shipping and fees say 1000$) then why not. The vibrant jpipe is not even 3" IIRC. Im not in a rush, im going to look around anyways. Worry about the Mani, and whlie the turbo is off ill replace the seals. And then the exhust line in the winter.

Dude, do not waste your money on any "name brand" exhuast. You can even ask Ken @ PG, he will tell you the same, go to a local exhuast guy and have him make you a J pipe back 3" custom exhuast, it'll be about half what you would pay for a Vibrant, Perrin, etc.

If I could do it all over that is what I would do.

I would fix the problems first before you get carried away with running your car down the quarter mile. Waste of time for it true potential. You might be able to get a 3" exhaust done cheaper than the vibrant, but I can't see it being $400, stanless steel, and fit and sounds as goo as the Vibrant.

All you do is weld in a Vibrant resonator, like I did on my Perrin exhuast system. Though in all honesty, the Perrin is a very nice peice. My local exhuast guy (was fixing these damn hangers that keep giving me trouble) said he was impressed with the fit, but he could do better.

I'm definitely getting a custom downpipe made.

there is a GI on a 3" downpipe somewhere. Im thinking about jumping on that, then run a custom 3" line off of it. Or if a shop around here can do the hole thing for a good price. Will see.

I have to get a custom down pipe because I run an older model AWR oil pan, and there are clearance issues. The new AWR pans come with one of the corners snipped off to make clearance for aftermarket downpipes, and mine doesn't have it, so none of the aftermarket ones currently offered will clear it. :(

Update on a dead thread...

Swapped out the old cracked mani for a new MAM. and i just got back from the track last night. Best time was 15.3. and i have not gotten around to tuneing the AFC. Still hits 10.x in boost.

So the mani shaved off almost 1 second.

Having a 10.0 afr compared to a 11.5 is quite a bit of power. My AFC was acting up on me a while ago. Under WOT it would sit at 10.0 then all of a sudden jump to like 11.2-11.5 and man could i feel the difference!

Get a exhaust cut-out welded in right after the J-pipe. Better than 3" TBE when running the car hard. I'm considering going back to a stock-ish exhaust system, and welding a 2.5" cut-out into my Corksport j-pipe, and going that route. I'm so sick of the Perrin exhaust while on the highway. My girl of 5 years won't even ride in my car. "It smells like gas, and I can't hear a damn thing" she says. Ughh

EDIT: How big were/are the cracks in your manifold ?

I will take a pic of the mani when i get home. When i took it off i found another crack on the under side that i could see through. I can almost fix a dime into it accually.

+1 2 local MSP guys got it done for 2-300 for j-pipe back 3 inch.... I'm thinking of doing it myself and going catless to boot!
