Something missing under nose of vehicle

Yesterday I changed the oil in the CX-9. I noticed what seemed to be a place for a plate that goes under the nose. There are two fasteners that will except a bolt. What I can see is the hoses under the radiator that would otherwise be covered up I think. It just looks like something is missing. The fasteners look something like one of these:

I had a new transfer case installed and just wondering if they forgot to put something back on. I'll try to get a pic tonight if I can. Right now I can't take a pic. Thanks!

They are all missing? What do you mean by that? You could be right, I'm not disagreeing, but that seems like a waste of money to attach fasteners to not even use them. I have seen stranger things I guess.

Remember than CX9 shares the chassis with Ford Edge's.
Maybe your will find your missing piece on an Edge?!?!

Mine is the same way...minus the rust...LOL!

I take it you live where it snows and salt is applied to roads. Not here in sunny SoCal.
