Was driving in town yesterday and I look ahead to see a Black MS3 turn at a light. I decide I need to catch up to him to look over his car because something caught my eye.

Happen to pull up next to him at the next light and I scope out his car and I am not impressed. He has painted all of the badges AND the rims a flat black. And it looks like a home job with Krylon. It was VERY disappointing. If I see him again in town, I'll snap some pics with my cell phone.

Would have been better off to just debadge the whole thing and have the rims powdercoated, but again IMHO.

I'm leaving mine stock for the time being.

stealth ftw!

Damn I was thinking doing black wheels so it will hide the brake dust that gets on there so fast but your right that doesnt look so good on a black car.

I believe the OP was referring to a different MS3 with flat black painted stock wheels - That car has the Ultraleggara black, which I'm actually planning on getting as soon as my car arrives (moved from Ohio to Cali) - I think those wheels look amazing on the black mica (cabpatch)

Ok I have to say you guys are right and I have settled on this being the rim and color I want as well.

Actually I spent the last week or so looking at rims and came back to this one as my favorite so far.

Hey Jbird are those the 18x8 with 48+ offset?

I am trying to find out if they will fit the stock potenzas and if the width is a problem with our MS3's?

Tirerack suggests this and our stock tire as a package that fits but you will know first hand so I appreciate the info.

ha so you changed your mind that quickly? The black on black is good for you now? JK man, the wheels are hot, and imitation is the most sincere from of flattery....

Yes the wheels are 18x8 +48, with the stock bridgestone tires. I have my car lowered and still not a problem with rubbing.

oh but if youre getting black to hide the brake dust, that is a mistake. Go with gunmetal or something then, cuz black wheels i think show the brake dust even worse than silver....

Ahh hell are you joking they show it worse?

I cant find a good place to buy these can you hook me up with a link?

Tire rack only has like 3 colors and any where I search points me back to tire rack.

Trust me, black wheels, especially when not flat black, are really hard to keep looking sharp. But when they are clean, damn do they look good...totally a tradeoff i can deal with.

I actually got these wheels used, but I know the guy who bought them new got them through tirerack. You can try some other sites like wheelmax.com or 1010tires.com but i dont know if they carry OZ wheels

Next change of pads I am going to look for ceramic but until then I guess my choice of wheel should be based on my likes not the color of brake dust.

Its been only 3 days with out a wash or whipe down and my front wheels are freaking nasty.

I still may go the all black route but I have time to decide while I save up.

Oh yeah I agree. Not good. If I were going to add some color to the wheels I would look into gunmetal or something.

Black on black looks sweet. I may have to do this on the MS6.

because brake dust is gray. Jbiird's car is hot.
Ha thanks swamp. I really don't care if anybody doesn't like the black on black, I think its hot (despite fighting the brake dust) so that's all that matters

Black rims are the s***. My car is Charcoal Gray with Black stripes and when I decide to get the Nitto 555R 315s, i'll be getting some Deep dish Black wheels as well.
