Some thoughts on this a/f read out?

Its on a buddies corvette....
I see its a little lean at start any thoughts what would yield with better a/f ratios.

looks very erradic, I'm not expert, but shouldn't it be smoother? And yes it looks uncomfortably lean, but I haven't see much NA A/F ratios...
