today i am leaving my girls house when i notice the rear corner of my car has a few deep scratches in it and a bunch of light scratches in it. The deep ones go all the way to the black plastic. I dont know how this happen. Im positive it wasnt there two days ago, and i barely drove it since then. Even when i did i parked far away from other cars:mad: Im sooo pissed right now. This is the first real scratches in my car. i have some touch up paint that i tried using but it looks like ass so i wiped it off real quick. Its not worth going to the body shop for. Anyone have any tips on how to use the touch up paint to make it look nice? I might go get a price b/c i also have two dings from accorns(sp) falling from a tree when i first got the car, that really bother me also. Any ideas on how much this will cost?

aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

thats sux man. i have a few small little dings in my car b/c of people hitting there car door into my car. :(

i was flippin out to my parents about it, and i just fouund out it was my mom!!! ?WTF!! she said she was scared to tell me b/c she knew i would flip. I dont know what to do. she just got a new rx330 which she obivously cant drive. i usually park in the garage but i have a bunch of stuff in there so i have been parking outside for the past few days, and this is what happends.

Someone hit my car with their door the other day boy does that make me mad. I don't get how someone could hit my car with their door when I park in parking lots so far away and near no one else.

because there is always some asshole that will park next to you even if your parking in the furthest spot on the lot. Happens to me all the time. I'll park in the middle of nowhere, and when I come out, there will be this one car right next to me, and no other cars around. It's like their stupid, and think that's were I parked, so that must be where they have to park. And it's always some fat b**** with kids, that instead of parking so she has room to get out, she parks within inches of your car. ARG

s*** drives me nuts

My mom said shes not paying for it, she doesnt think its that big of a deal. She says im obsessed. well i am, so if im gonna fix it i gotta pay myself. After im done with all my turbo expenses im gonna find a place to paint the scratches and also paint the upper portion of my front grill blue, like the MSP's have. For now im just gonna try an use the touch up paint.

Touch up paint can be an extremely big pain in the ass to do right. You have to clean the area completely (with something like rubbing alcohol). Then you have to apply touch up paint in many many layers (dont use the little brush the paint comes with. Use a pointed toothpick or a paper match end cut into a tip) and let each dry for about 20-30 minutes. You keep applying until the touchup area goes above the real paint. Then you let this dry for a few hours/overnight and get some fine 600-1200 grit sandpaper and *wetsand* very gently the raised area. People recommend putting the sandpaper onto a eraser of a pencil (use a hole punch to cut out some sandpaper). When you're satisfied begin using a rubbing compound and polish.

This is the gist of it. Theres a really anal FAQ on this procedure but I forget the site. Its too much for me. I can't get touchup paint to go on in thin layers properly and I'm impatient. I'm just going to wait a few years and get a quality paint job.

Maybe you didn't properly express yourself to your mom. What happen to you sucks but if she understand how important it is to you, she might reconsider.

I pitty the fool who's gonna bang my car and tell me in my face that he wont pay for the scratch he did, so minute it is....

On 2nd thought...Maybe mom should meet your insurance agent....and the cops...leaving the scene of an accident.

i will mash her face in. PM me and we can arrange something. just kidding. that sucks. good luck fixing it and everything. my dad paid for my sister's audi repair when he ran into a parking stop. hee hee... she's still pissed even though he paid $1500 to get it back to normal.

How about a glass for that wine?

lol. I remember those days. Wanna know what I did? I moved out when I was 17. I ended up moving back for a year when I was 19. But I moved back out and paid my own way.

How much money do you give your parents a month? How much do they take care of for you? (Laundry, food, TV, Utilities, numerous small unrepaid loans, tuition, etc.)

So your mom scratched your car? Congratulations, multiply that aggravation by the number of years you have lived under their roof, and you just might have some clue of what your parents have had to endure everytime you made a mistake and broke something while growing up.

anyone else remember being handed this one day:

" Children!

Tired of Being
Harassed
By Your
Stupid Parents?

ACT NOW!!

Move out, get a job
Pay your own bills...
While you still know
Everything.
"

my parents are real good to me, I pay all my car stuff myself. I got a good job and work atleast 40hrs a week.

My mom actually said she will pay for the paint if i replace the carpet in the tv room where i spilled ice tea a few weeks ago and stain her carpet. I guess im over it now, i will get it painted later along with some other things i want to do. I was just so pissed at first b/c i though some asshole in a parking lot hit me.

I don't see why your parents should be pissed off at their children for living in their house no matter what the kids put them through. They're children! I have cats, and I don't get pissed at them if they throw up all over my carpet (which happens everyday), or scratch me so that I have scars all over my hand, or puke in my car, or make my friends allergic, the fact that they're my cats would make me put up with anything they do. Not to mention if I actually had CHILDREN.

Is there some other way you can get the stain out? washing the carpet or something? Either way, replacing the carpet is probably cheaper than you paying to fix the car up, that's probably what your mom figured and just didnt' want to spoon-feed everything to you.
