some interesting findings about cx-7 BOSE unit

So I made some very interesting findings today....

As some of you may know, I have been working on my CX-7 for aftermarket sound system. The plan was to tap in my 3sixty.2(which is high end LOC) before the BOSE amp to get a flat signal.
It actually turns out that the BOSE cd player on my car does not put out flat response and also that the volume is actually adjusted at the BOSE amplifier
How did I find out?
Well, here is the story.
So I hooked up everything and tried a listen. Volume control was not functional at all. It was dialing up the numbers as I turn the knob clockwise but the actual volum did not increase at all. Also, my 3sixty.2 showed me the signal that the BOSE cd player was sending out, and
I come to discover that the signal is actually boosted at low and high!!!!
It had a single volume!!! going into the amplifier!
So it is must be that all the volume, fade, and balance are actually done at the amplifier level.
Most of other Mazdas in fact do send out flat signals but I guess this was not the case for my cx-7. I was really hoping to not to use external remote but it seems though I will be.
If anyone wants to sell me stock regular non bose unit, PM me.
Damn...

^Bad luck man. Glad I didn't get Bose audio :) Not ready to build the car pc for the CX7 or I'd sell you the one in the car now. I am still looking forward to seeing what you come up with for a sub setup. What did you decide on?
