some info. i heard on the new mps

they are coming out with new mp3 but they are now called a mps. it will have 170 hp because the tranny blew in third gear with 180 hp. it will have turbos but only another 1500 are being made, and are coming out this fall. also aside from blue and yellow colors for the car, there will also be orange. the sticker price will also be the same, 18,000 and some change. thats all that i know, believe or not, this is the rumor section.

What your saying seems to match with what everyone else has been saying, but how do you know the thing about the tranny? If you don't mind me asking.

Can you a little more background on who passed the rumor to you is what I mean?

The New York Auto Show...

Is supposed to be the big unvieling of the new Protege...Or so I have heard. Whether it'll be the MPS or what we will have to wait and see.

If the tranny blew in 3rd at 180hp, then what makes them think it wouldn't break at 170hp and mods. And if it is turbo'd and you mod it, you will definately crack that 10hp mark, possiblly with just an intake alone, so the tranny problem will still exist. I say.....no to this rumor. Thank god you started a new topic though....

that be so true...no manufacturer in their right mind would mass produce such an expensive and intergrual part of a car so close to the limit of its capabilities....especially knowing that the cars WILL get modded....and whether or not they would abide by a warrentee issue....if their trannies were crapping out left and right....it would make them look bad....really bad.

I HOPE I CAN CLEAR SOME OF THE AIR REGARDING NEW MAZDAS. THE NEW PERFORMANCE MODEL OF THE PROTEGE IS GOING TO BE THE MAZDA SPEED 3, NOT AN MP3. I DO FINANCE AT A MAZDA DEALERSHIP AND MY GENERAL MANAGER TOLD ME MAZDA TOLD HIM THE NEW MODEL WILL BE 230-240 HP TURBO 2.0 MORE THAN LIKELY BASED ON THE CURRENT 9.0 COMPRESSION 2.0. IT IS COMING IN SPICY ORANGE (NEW COLOR)


You see guys i think i have finally figured it out. They are going to make 2 new protege's. One that can't be modded and one that u can. Oddly enough they both have the same size motors and turbos. Like i said before it is time for a new forum called: straight up bulls***.
