So you have never exceeded the speed limit in your car. Thought so. I bet you have had it over 100 too. I bet there is not a member on this forum that has not had their Speed in triple digts.

I have done 235km/hr (~145mph if my calculations are correct) on a closed course in my speed3 while it was stock. It didn't seem to have much else left (I did have some extra weight in the car).

Sorry to hear about your speeding ticket and having to sell your car. Better luck and even better anger management next time.

That is sad that you had to sell over a ticket, and odd at the same time. Have you even seen your insurance rate yet or is there a lot more to the story that you are not telling? I have several tickets and an accident and my insurance hasnt gone up enough to make me sell the car. Being unemployed for the past year has made me seriously consider selling it only because we dont need 2 cars right now and the Mazda5 does the trick nice.

Anyway, good luck with whatever. Can not imagine a Miata will be much better for your insurance rate in less than a year.

So I'm not the only one perplexed by this as well. MS3 insurance in my area is pretty darn cheap. It's listed as a "Mazda3 Sport" on my papers and it only cost an extra couple of hundred bucks more to insure than my previous car that was 10 years old.

I can't imagine any convertible being "cheap" to insure.
