SOLD THANKS FOR LOOKING

I am selling my used AEM cold air intake for the Mazdaspeed 3 07-09, part number 21-642. Most people are aware that this kit is almost identical to the Mazdaspeed CAI which is also made by AEM. I used this intake both with the stock tune and with the Cobb MSCAI2 OTS maps with no issues whatsoever.

This was installed for approx 15k miles. It is in good condition minus some surface scratches from installation/removal that will not affect performance. As you can see the filter looks almost brand new. The kit is complete and includes everything that came with the kit when it was purchased new, down to the hardware, instructions, decals and original box.

$175 shipped (lower 48). Buyer will have FedEx tracking the next business day after payment is received. PM me for paypal information.

questions, comments?

too cheap? too expensive?

I am really surprised people have barely looked at this thread when there are so many MS3 intake threads out there.

just a comment, $200 might be a bit too much for something that has been used for 15k miles, specially when you can find some SRIs and Injens that have 5k miles or so going for $150 or so

I understand where you are coming from but SRIs are obviously going to be less expensive than a full CAI. The Injen is well known to cause problems and throw cels on the MS3, so that explains why those can be had for so cheap.

the AEM/Mazdaspeed intake is tried and true to make power and not cause problems when installed w/ the straightener and this one has been used but is complete and ready to install down to the nuts and bolts. Most of these kits you will find w/ no instructions, no hardware etc.

$200.00 is a jumping off point and I feel a fair price, but make me an offer if you feel that it is too much and we will go from there.

I don't know where you got the information about the injen cai throwing cels but I've had it on for 15000 miles and some change with no issues whatsoever. I'm sure other members can chime in about it.

Ive had my injen cai for about 7 or 8k and haven't had 1 cel lol

I dont own the injen..but ive alwas heard that its one of the intakes that never had prablem throwing cel's..so maybe you got your intakes mixed up I dont know. As for the aem cai..yeah its a solid intake and if iwent cai thats the 1 id go with. Maybe try 175 ish...15000 miles isnt alot..but used is used and people are looking to save as much money these days.

Injen CEL thread

in this thread someone even recommends that he buy an AEM/Mazdaspeed intake instead.

I have never heard of an AEM intake (or Mazdaspeed w/ straightener) throwing a cel in the two years that I have had this car which is why I got one. Maybe they have revised the Injen design, I have no idea-- all I know is that THIS one will have no chance of tripping a code. Does the injen have an air straightener now? I didn't before.

injen never had one and still doesn't to my knowledge.
i believe it's an incorrectly sized maf, which our cars are sensitive about. i've definitely heard personal experiences where cars would buck in between shifts and fuel trims were through the roof.
200 for a solid intake is a pretty decent price. i'll offer you 75 dollars. lol. jk and bump

12k w/ my Injen CAI... no CELs either.

if you read that "Injen CEL thread" its 1 person that got water on the filter and damaged his MAF.

Thats not the CAI's fault. Would've done the same if he had gotten water on cp-e CAI, AEM or Mazdaspeed CAI.

anyways, good luck with your sale. free bump for u.

forthe op this is a great intake, i have had mine for 8k miles and never had an issue, great power right when you put it on and works great with the AP maps.

Bump
