I hope for two things: That nobody dies and that every home valued over 1 million burns to the ground. (putting on flame-suit, ironically)

why. in san diego, that's a middle class home. death toll is 5.

Sucks when people die.

Maybe if all the expensive homes go up in flames, the prices will moderate...
Average home price in San Diego is 493,000. Spending more than twice the average on a home makes you upper class, not middle.

If anything, I think prices will go up. Although they might go down in Rancho Bernardo area, I doubt it though. Hopefully the winds will calm down so the firefighters can get this under control. This sucks.

dude...what planet do you live on? thats the dumbest thing i've ever heard and i wouldnt wish that on anyone. That is not the way the market works.

p.s. i'm ready to evac as I type.

good luck to all of you guys, hopefully nothing gets any worse than it is already..

my grandma, grandpa, aunt, and uncle all had to evac yesterday.. they told me that they were watching the news going in and out of the house, then all of a sudden, they hear fire trucks sirens getting louder and louder.. they look out their back yard, and see a huge flame just inching it's way up the hill towards their house... crazy..... my grandma said that all it took was about 10 seconds for the whole quarter of a square mile hill behind their house to become engulfed in flames... really scary and sad.....

my heart goes out to all you guys, and all those who have lost everything in the flames...

While all these fires are burning, threatening what all these people have poured their heart and soul into, you are hoping it will burn to the ground?!? I'm sorry, but you gotta get your head checked. Regardless the value of someone's home, it should never ever be seen burnt to the ground. Each and every person values their savings and hard work that has gone into their own home, and having one home burn down from these fires is a tragedy, let alone the thousands that have so far. Pricing of homes is the last thing someone should be thinking about in that area right now, get your head straight for christ sake.

the prices are already moderating. ok, so a million isn't middle class, but still wanting houses to burn is just a flat out dick thing to say.

People, get back on the topic and leave the meaningless comments out the door. There are more important matters at hand.

My thoughts exactly. There is absolutely no need for this thread to head in a negative direction. Any posts from hereon in that are pointless and offensive will be deleted ASAP.

Wow thanks asshole.

Thats about a third of San Diego. Pretty much any house over 3000 square feet. Keep your dumb comments to yourself.

Anyways if anyone is affected and needs anything let me know. I know my home right now is covered in ash and dust. Remember to stay indoors and minimize activity outside!

Yeah, we arent in the voluntary evac area anymore, thank God. So i'm busy unpacking everything. You just never know tho, one of those embers could float on by and light up the area again.

Has anyone heard on how these fires were started? I read on msnbc.com that the Feds are investigating arson.(piss) I heard that up north that a man started one fire and was then trying to start a second fire, was promptly shot on the spot! Huzzzaaah!

not entirely correct. he was caught trying to start a fire yes, but they shot him because he got in his car and rammed into some police cruisers during the chase.
