Soapbox Derby

I might be inclined to believe that, if I'd ever seen you run for anything other than a shot of Jager.

Which one? Being front heavy or being gravitationally challenged? (shady)

Yes.

And it's not gravitationally challenged, trust me, I'm not floating away anytime soon.

More like gravitationally enhanced in this case.... (shady)

I was in until 'penis'. Muff's gonna be there as it stands...no sense in overdoing it.

We have a friend who participates in this event every year. My husband has gone along the last two years. There usually several (ghey) group soapbox entries...They might be offended by a penis-shaped car. Or rather...They might get excited! (butthump)

I know this might sound like common since, but just use some bicycle tires and make sure you have solid axles. I've built a couple of these when i was in scouts.

Man, I hate to be missing this, sounds like a ton of fun!

Be sure to check craigslist for parts and stuff, you never know what you'll find for free on there. I might even have some scwhag to contribute to the racing effort.

I'll be in for this. I can get three (there might be four there?) R comp cart tires for free, we'd just need rims. I could probably get an axle and brake assembly too.

wouldn't you want the least sticky tires you can get so as to have less rolling resistance?

I don't think we need brakes that really work either. I'd rather see Steve crash this thing in the most spectacular fashion possible than see it go fast.

Can we design it then to have the "driver" (aka Steve) laying flat so he goes down the hill head first? The head is supposedly the heaviest part of the body, so that should help acceleration.

It does have to pass a safety thing and brakes are required.
