2003 Vivid Yellow Mazda Protege5 (auto)
So I have made up my mind. I'm keeping the P5 and getting rid of the other two cars.

I am 21 years old and I own 3 cars. A 1993 Honda del Sol Si, A 2003 Mazda Protege5(Vivid Yellow) & a 1995 Honda del Sol VTEC(You may mock this but this is the model name of the car).

I am selling both del Sol's and I am going to keep the P5. The Protege still has a warranty on it, it is DEAD sexy and well, the ecomonics of it just can't be beat by my other 2 seater cars.

Each time I get behind the wheel of this car, it puts a smile on my face. Something like this: (thumb) Ha Ha

The handling is awesome! It is so precise! It follows the corners like it was meant to be. Blah, I probably would have sex with this thing if it was possible.(I'm just kidding but seriously I love this car so much!)

So anyways, I will post some bad pics I have of my car. I will post better ones when I get on my laptop!

It's a 2003. I believe it IS NOT a 2003.5 since it doesn't has the Subwoofer. It only has 35% tint on it all the way around. Except windshield.

My plans for it. Upgrade the lighting. Although the lighting is awesome on this car stock, I know there has to be upgrades. There is a company on this forum that sells some bulbs so I will probably get them from there. Something street something.com LoL. Hopefully do a carputer in it but if not, atleast a screen in the dash. Probably get it from the one company that is on this forum. Two 10's possibly with a custom enclosure for minimal loss of space. I like laying in the back! :) Ha ha Winter should end once I finish all of that so than I will lower it. Nothing ridiculous as I like to use it as my daily driver and my dad also uses it for long commutes because of the MPG. Get some nice wheels. Possible another set of 16's but with some nice beefy tires. If not than I will go with the 18's. After all of that, I than plan to remove the roof rack, once I get ahold of the black rubber strips that go up there in place of it. Add a few CF parts possibly than probably call it the day. Oh, and intake, mild exhaust and MAYBE a header.

I will be sure to post up a link to the thread when I post them for sale.

Mean while here is a pic of both.

The one with the bodykit and white wheels(riced one). Is still together exterior wise, but the interior needs put back together and it needs a tranny. Which are a dime a dozen.

The green one is a '95 and has the b16. The VTEC model. It has nice pic up and go. I put my leather wrapped seats in this one for more comfort and better look! It needs a paint job bad and a passenger side fender. It runs great with a GReddy SP2 exhaust and cheap Ebay intake. It also has a decent Audiobahn AMP and two 8" subs or woofers or whatever. It has 86,000 miles on it which is cool!

good decision on getting rid of the del slo's ;)
not that this car is quick by any stretch of the imagination.

LoL... I always loved that term. Especially when I drove the del Sol VTEC and made peoples eyes pop out of there head because they are used to the del Sol's with the 1.5 liter non-vtec's. Ha Ha Oh well!

The B16 in the P5 would definetly be an improvment on the speed aspect. LoL I love Honda's and most things about them, but the 'luxury' aspect can't compete with my Mazda. I mean hell, the Mazda actually warms up in less than 5 minutes! :)
 
BTW, I can't wait to order my first parts. Probably be next week than after that, I will probably order a new part each week! :)

Welcome aboard. I was an ex civicSI guy I think alot of us got a bit more sensible about priorities. Plus the whole F&Fbit was a bit of a buzzkill for me. Fast hondas were WAY funner when noone knew. Now the assuem, and you jsut have to pretend your car is soomuch faster than theirs that you're not gonna even honor their revving.

And heck with bushings, get a shortshifter... (nomore punching your biggulp going to 3rd)
 
I had a civic .. 1990 civic dx 1.5 sohc no vtec... fast car and after i had my 16's on there it handled really well.. i actually miss that car .. but i think if my p5 was a stick .. i would be happier.. OOOOH and i was one of the millions that riced the civic by painting it a bright color :D

and yet another honda driver in pure denial of the fact that his car is slow. I'm sorry bud... i've owned a prelude and a gsr... and we all know that a 1.5 sohc non vtec is a slow piece of s***. Thats about the same as bragging about the p5's speed.

I am in no denial. My del Sol VTEC is quick! The del Sol Si(d16z6) on the other hand isn't the quickest.

I would say the P5 is on par with the d16z6/y8.

don't worry about wipedawg...if you do a search of his posts, all 94 of them will be nasty...hahaha...even though he's right
just another family member, so take his comments with a grain of salt (cheers)
 
good choice on keeping the 5, it look great in those pics!! i wish i had bought the yellow!!!!
 
lemme actually rephrase my self.. that car was quick.. for the size... sad part is i beat a couple OLD rx7's wiht it.. deffiantly not fast but quick.. and also may i add Honda/acura .. is the only car company that can match 100 horse per liter of the car.. sorry for the thread jack.. but i was a really big honda fan till i bought a mazda
