Mazda, MSP Protege
Can anyone look at this and give me an idea of what it may be worth...KBB no longer lists the price cause it is a "Limited Edition" I went to honda to trade it in for an SI and the guy was like....6 grand...i told him to suck a donkey cock....aint happening....I just did all of the major maintenance.....timing/belts/waterpump/thermostat.......the KBB for a regular protege es with the mileage i have was about 8900.......So what does that make this....for a person who appreciates a good looking car......11-12? I might put it on Ebay...and yes i know....people havent been having that much luck but it is worth a shot....

I know my buy it now price would be 12500 firm....

I bought mine, priavte seller in ohio with 38K no mods for 13K, bank appraisted it at 11-12k i believe.

well, with the air freshener, its worth at least $15k (if not more!!!)

but, seriously, if it was still stock, it might be worth more to a dealer. probably not a honda dealer, though. thing is, with modified cars, your customer base really becomes limited. and because of that, either you have to stick it out and wait for the price you want, or lower your price to make the car more attractive to more buyers. "catch22" comes to mind...

to me i would not trade in the MSP for a SI civic, if you looking for speed then the SI is not the place, i beat them all the time at the track. Build the MSP more it will be worth it.

07 si's are s*** boxes in snow .. i got a guy who owned one for 4 days..

he went back to what he had before.. accord V6 6sp....lost tons of money on it but didn't care..

apparently it's the only car in the world that when driving in snow and going up a hill. the rear end whats to skid to the front.. and with spiked snow tires..

oh and the MSP is not very good in snow either ;)

How many miles are on it? And don't get an SI...I had an SI before my MSP and although I loved it, it doesn't compare to this car. I will never go back to honda. Hey, since you live in GA, do you know any body shop that specializes in mazdas? I need to take mine to one and I don't know where to go!!

Don't sell it! The new SI sucks, although at least now it comes in a four door, but it is waaaay overpriced.

Any ways, you can find the value of the car on NADA.com. You'd have better luck if you put most of the stuff back to stock. The exhaust and IC pipes are fine, and also the wheels, but put everything else back to stock and you'll have a better chance at selling it.

FYI, I got mine with 28k miles, FMIC, CF hood, and Injen CAI for $12250. I then cashed out the guys extended warranty for $750, sold the FMIC for $600, traded CAI for stock airbox + $50, and traded the hood for a stocker. So in the end I paid $10900, but the guy was desperate to get rid of it.

I have returned my Titanium MSP back to virtually stock except for the exhaust, CAI and Lowering springs, though I'm selling the car with the stock springs as well, just don't want to do the reinstall myself at this point. It has 33,200K on it. I know I can sell it for $13K + but I'd rather sell it to someone who understands what the car is. I'm going to tag it at 13K and negotiate from there. My guess is the actual sell price would be about 12K

I really just want reliabilty. This mazda would have put me at least 6k into the hole if i didn't have the extended warranty. (yes) Which sucks.....

I already know if i get the SI it will be dependable....maybe not fast, but it walks on a stock mazdaspeed. I am not that much into racing anymore...sort of grew out of it, so building the motor would be pointless....and from talking to all of the members who actually hit the 300 whp+ mark on this car, they all spent close to 15 grand for a fully built vehicle......drivetrain and motor. That is a lot of money for one hundered something extra hp. I could drive up to z1 motorsports and give them 17000 for a 570rwhp car and walk on almost any modified car on the streets....so the whole speed thing, there are better ways to spend that money, if i want speed i can just hope on my racing 4wheeler.... plus this was settled like a year or two ago...this car was not built for straight line power..

I cant be worrying about when is my car going to break if i am going to buy a house and be going to school at the same time......

anyway....i am ranting.....i just need an idea of how much i can get it for....there are always idiots on ebay......i mean who ******* buys a chip with a star in it for 50000 grand......

it has 85 thousand all major maintanence done......

That's essentially what happened to me. I needed to get practical, I'm 26 now and the reality came that I didn't have the time and lacked the desire to dump the $ into the MSP to get it where I want it. I ended up leasing a CX-7 so at least I still have something with some style but is practical for my snowboarding trips in the winter and mountainbiking trips in the summer. When I sell the MSP I'll take some of that money and buy another "project" car. I'm probably going to go for a 90-95 300zx or a 90-97 240SX. I want something rear drive and with a good platform to build on. Either one of those will be heavily modified and be my weekend fun car which I will boost the s*** out of and torch who I feel like torching but we'll see what happens with that.
