Wow, thanks everyone....you know, I was doing pretty good until I read the thread again. You guys are making me miss the good times lol. As for what I did with the body, I didn't know what to do, so shes sitting in a garbage bag I guess awaiting removal. Sad, but I don't want to bury a cat in my backyard because we are moving soon and that would be a lovely gift if someone tried to plant flowers there.

As for the anal leakage....haha don't worry it was meant to be funny...I see it as her getting back at me for my younger years when I was mean to her.

Talk to your vet. They can cremate the remains for you. I wasn't keen on burying any of my four-legged babies when they passed on, because I knew I wasn't going to be living at the house for forever. So I have two little containers - one of my pup Smokey and one of my kitty Ricoh.

Sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is. We had to put my cat to sleep a few months ago. It was really tough for me because I grew up with her. I'm 24, she was 18 when she passed. At the vet I remember seeing a chart that compared housecat lifespan to humans. 18 equates to about 85 human years, so knowing that she lived a long and happy life makes me feel alot better.
We buried her in my parent's backyard, under a dogwood tree.

I know, right. Not the type of thing that jump to the forefront of our "remember to do lists" but it was better than them being in the ground.

Sorry to hear it. I can't imagine losing one of mine... considering how upset I got when one of mine got sick a few years back and had to have major surgery ($2500 worth). He nearly died, but pulled through... I was more upset at that than when my grandma died.

Sorry to hear about your cat, losing a pet to me is hard to deal with. About 3 weeks ago my folks had to put down one of our family dogs, she was the only dog that we ever has since a puppy, all the others were strays. We got her in 93 when I was 13, she was one hell of a dog, one that will that will stick in my memory forever...wow I'm sitting here in my office getting teary eyed typing this out thinking about all the memories. A couple months ago she started to slow down, but that old age slowing down, then my folks took her to the vet they ran tests and turned out she has a tumor the size of a cantalope on her intestine causing her to bleed and lose blood. they removed it hoping she would recover, but she didn't, wouldn't eat etc and got to the point that she was on morophine to keep her comfortable, a week later the vet got the pathology results that showed cancer throughout her body, so they had no choice but to have the vet come to the house and put her down. That was one of the hardest days in a long time for me.

As hard as it is to go through this its still worth it to have a pet, the love they give back is so worth it. My fiancee and I have 2 cats now and a new dog who is nuts and I love them even tho the dog is a pain in the ass puppy, he is still cute.
