Silmar S249A ftw! I'm pretty sure I'll be doing this to mine in a couple months.... The DIY paint job is holding up fairly well, but I just want the CF lol. Plus it looks like it will actually give it some more stength as well.... more than any paint at least!

DEF. will give it more strength. I was watching Smash lab on Discovery/tlc, they wrapped one layer on a 2x4 and it made it incredibly(sp?) stronger. +1 LOTS of pics plz. I saw a 100sq ft roll of CF for 100.00$ on fleabay.

Thats what i was looking at. It should be able to be used just like fiberglass except using special resin.

I work with carbon every day on the air craft. The mail thing is you want it to be vacumed down tight. Especially on the edges. Water gets up in there and its game over. It is not very hard. Especially since u already have the shape. Whats hard is when u have to make something from scratch. Good luck though guys. +1 on pics. Im curious how it looks.

how do you vacume it? do you need a speacial machine or will a regular dirt devil and garbage bag work? and where do you get this resin?

Lol... No man there are vacumm hoses. Maybe look on line. I dont think a regular vacumm will pull it down enough. You want it to be very tight and to get all the air out. Not sure on the resin... I get it paid for by our tax payers... lol.

a tool called a vacula should do the trick. i have one in the bottow drawer of my box to assist when bleeding brakes.
