so I went to lunch with my mother and father today

If you're looking for the best roads, simple. Go to Eastern PA, near the Poconos. There is a Route 402 and I've done 130mph on it and everytime i pass that road, no cops anywhere.

we have a road like that down here. goes across the middle of florida. it's just like an hour away from me and I don't feel like driving an hour to speed illegally. plus I hit almost 105 at the drag strip every time I go. and I've gone fast in cars before. it's just not worth risking a ticket or a wreck.

ROFL - Im 23 and my parents hate that I mod my car... they support my hobby (buying me tools etc.) but I get this from my father all the time:

"why do you want to spend so much money making a car faster when the speed limit is still going to be 55mph...?"

this coming from the guy who had a worked up chevy nova as a teenager and had multiple sport cars over the years (including my favorite - his 3000gt vr4).

my mom would just rather the money go to something else, but niether of them truely care... unless Im running open DP in which case the car is just too loud for them.

I remember when I was in highschool and I came home with a system one day. my parents just shook their heads.

My mom throws empty bourbon bottles at me and we're still trying to figure out who my dad is.

As funny as this lunatic's comments are, he probably has a terrific wife and gets along wonderfully with everyone in his gag-me-with-a-norman-rockwell-painting perfect family.

O amen brother. I'm 19 and my father was kind enough to pay for insurance (under the company name so it's really nothing) but I hear from the guy about "stop ******* with your car!" when I'm washing it or the hood is popped open. I wish he understood..

dude you better be careful. if he is insuring it through his business, and you get in an accident, that can be pretty serious for him. my dad was the same way. thats why he insured us kids seperately.

edit: oh you're in canada, you probably don't have anything to worry about.

lol Yea there has never been a problem. I have four older brothers that have been under his company for years. Not saying they have been in sooo many accidents, but it has never crapped out on us.

my wife kicks ass. My family isn't Norman Rockwell, but I have no complaints. :)

my dad was just worried about the company becoming involved in a law suit. I guess that probably isnt as much of a problem in canada as it is in south florida.

heh, when my father was my age he had a 1972 Datsun 240Z and still has it to this day. He is always asking me what I've done to my car lately. In fact, he's helping me put in my Corksport motor mount inserts this Thursday.

PM me if your dad ever decide to sell his 240z. Alway want one.

im 20 and my favorite line from my dad that i hear EVERY SINGLE DAY is "Just DRIVE the car" and he will say it over and over again. Now this is a man that has national and world records in motorcycle drag racing...now hes to fat to get in his leathers lol

im 21, my parents are eh so far on modding it, especially my dad at first but since i put the intake on, my cat back, and my scan gauge each new mod and every time he sees me on protegegarage, he says "wats next?" like not sarcasticly but he wants to c what i do to it, i think hes hopin i get bored w/ it in a couple years and ill sell it to him lol, cant wait til my forge bpv comes in though, sounds so good

lol my parents say it's good that I'm saving money working on it myself, but I have a feeling what they've got in the back of their mind is "let's see what you do when it breaks"

im 17 and geting ready to mod my car, but iam payin for most of it, it is tough convincing my parents

it's not the paying for the mods my parents were worried about. it was the "whats going to happen if it breaks down and it needs warranty work?"

My mom only accepted the MS3 when I told her it was less than my Trailblazer SS Lease. My dad's been doing autobody work for the past 30 years, so he doesn't really care what car I have, to him, they're all junk.
