For those of you that have installed it or have installed another intake that says to remove the front bumper in the directions, did you remove the front bumper? I definitely do not want to mess with removing the front bumper.

There are many ways to install the CAI, and I don't think it matters too much which brand you have. MS recommends to remove the driver side front wheel, but doesn't say to remove the bumper. Injen says to remove the bumper, but nothing about the wheel. In reality, you don't even have to do either; I actually installed my MS CAI without removing the front bumper and without removing the wheel. Just depends how patient you are, and how concerned you are about messing something up. Both jacking the car and removing the bumper obviously have potential complications.

So...do what you are comfortable with. I think most would recommend to remove the wheel, and leave the bumper in place.

Cool, I'll jack and remove the wheel, I'm ok with that.

Is there a jacking point in the front center?
If you have a floor jack, put a block of wood on it and jack on the cross member just behind the rear transmission mount.

You can get to it through the fener liners, but its a little hard to reach some stuff... so I ended up taking my bumper off, its really easy actually.... I originally didnt want to either but Im figuring to do my fmic and other stuff I might as well get used to taking it off.

Also its probably the 5th front bumper Ive takin off a car so Im not freaking out thinking Im going to mess something up if you know what I mean....

When I get to the point that I'm doing my FMIC, I'll have a local shop install it.

LOL, tell them you left your air deflector in place since you cant get to it.

I was actually impressed you got all that in there with out taking the wheel off and for those worried about going that route I suppose it is possible but to do it right its worth the extra 5 min to remove the wheel.

take the wheel off... then take out the 3 screws that hold the front air deflector up to the wheel well.. it will hinge down towards the front. You can also remove the entire plastic shroud from the underside of the car with 6 bolts and 2 plastic connectors to give you complete access to the intake chambers. this is the easiest and quickest way to accompllish this. I can send you pictures of the screws to remove if need the help!

I started at 6PM tonight, I was done by 7PM. I took off the wheel, took out 3 of the plastic screws for the fender liner, 3 screws in front of the wheel and I was fine. No bumper removal, and I left part of the air deflector in there.(yes)
