So I contacted Cobb about using my car as a beta tester for the AccessPORT for 09 MS3. Now,....I have done this before for other companies, usually they send you the product, you use it and give your feedback, and either send it back, or they give you one for helping. Cobb, on the other hand, wants me to buy one (at a 20% discount, I can Live search it and get it when they come out for 30% off) and test it and post my findings back to them and 4 web sites.
Just doesnt seem like much of an insentive to be a beta tester, possibly putting my engine in harms way, for a measly discount.

Whats everyone think?

not sure, but if you do go for it let us know. i just bought a unit 2nd hand for 520 shipped and am looking forward to using it =]

cobb has tons of testers and they own there own test mule. the 09 ms3 are the same as the 08.5ms3 which is mecannicly the same as the 07-08 ms3. so i would say they are beeing generous...

The benefit is you get a custom tune done to your car. You'll need a dashhawk scan gauge to datalog and you'll be doing plenty of wot runs, sending them the files, then getting a revision back to upload ... then repeat again.

My beta went up to version K so you can see it could take a while to dial it in completely.

come to think of it i dont think they are manufacturing the 09 ms3 anymore. if i recall correctly its the leftovers they have of 08.5

Unfortunately, thats not true, otherwise why would they need me as a beta tester?
Mechanically yes, they are the same, but the ecu's are programmed differently.
Here is the thread on Cobb's site asking for beta testers:
