So I got the CEL that says...

Well, I forget right now and I'm at work. It's the code that people get when their gas tank seal has gone bad or usually after installing the air straightener to the MS CAI.
Anyways, I reset the ECU and the CEL went away for a day but came back. How do I get the CEL to stay off? Is there any fix to this problem? The car is running fine and at last check the numbers are all good on the AP.
Anyone?
Thanks.

did you not screw your gas cap on tight? If so, tighten it down then disconnect the negative side of your battery and pump the brakes and reconnect and see it if goes away.

Did you reset your ecu. What map are you running and what are your mods. What are your long term fuel trims?

+1, take it off and put it back on, then reset the ecu. If its a code for your tank/gas cap related then I doubt any of your mods would cause it.

I'm running the Stage 1 MSCAI2 91 oct. I did reset the ecu and the CEL just came back the next day. I'll have to check on the ltft numbers.
Mods are in sig. Stock other than those 2 mods.

Not likely to take two weeks to throw a CEL from the air straightener position. Should show up in a matter of a few days at most.

Consider getting another CEL code read from Autozone and post the number here. You could have more than one issue and might have fixed one but not some other.

If you are in fact getting a p2187 code your ltft's will be +20 or more at idle. This indicates you have a leak somewhere in the intake system. That is all there is to it.

the code is "P0455 evaporative emission sys. leak (gross). I used my AP to get the code and reset ecu. I will try the battery unhook trick if you guys think I still should.
Thanks for the help.

Check your gas cap, either that or your purge valve is stuck open. You need to uninstall the ap and go to the dealer. FYI this code is not related to the fuel pump or air straightener.

Oh good.
I checked the gas cap and it was not fully tightened. Odd, I have never made that mistake on any car... ever. That I know of. Anyway, I reset again and so far so good.

Thanks guys. This forum is so valuable.

I got this code too about a week after I got the car, turned out to be the evap purge valve had jammed, took a 20 minute trip to the dealership to diagnose and a second 15 minute trip to replace the part when the new one came in. Might be worth a trip to double check if you are still under warrentee. Fuel economy went up 1.5 mpg after getting it fixed.
