So how can you tell a GOOD wheel?

I mean, I can look at tire rack's site and just find which wheels fit my car, but which ones are actually good? Will hold up to handling should I really want to push the car to it's limits someday? I see some decently priced ones that don't weigh a lot, but are they strong? Just curious. I know very very little about cars and NOTHING about wheels whatsoever. I just don't wanna end up buying wheels next year and finding out that I bought good looking, lightweight pieces of crap.

go rota..... good quality, good price, just make sure the bore size is right (don't remember for sure what it is)

and I recommend 17s as a true performance wheel (puts on flame suit). Lighter weight overall, cheaper tires, better tire selection, less wheelhop, etc

if you're looking for both style and mild performance, sticking with 18 should be fine

Not always, but typically, if it costs a lot then it will be a good wheel. LOL.

Brands like Volk, Rays, Racing Hart, SSR, OZ, BBS, etc. are all top-notch. Something truly made in Japan, Italy, or Germany, you know?

Enkeis are also made in japan. I guess I souldn't talk though since I have not put any aftermarket wheels on yet.

Most anything sold at the Tire Rack is of quality. They have too much reputation to protect to go selling garbage.

Additionally, unless you're driving full bore over cobblestones, racing over curbs or intentionally aiming for potholes, it's hard to really destroy a wheel on the street just because you're taking corners swiftly.

I have Gram Lights and they are really good quality. Light weight and run true. Very little weight to balance them. No center cap but true Japanese spec wheels have no center caps. Oh and they came with aluminum hub centric rings to seat perfectly on hubs.
