Well i just wanted to say that i'm so glad i found this forum... I recently followed a link from http://msp.kygeek.com/ which led me to this website.

Anyway, my girlfriend just bought a 2003 Black Mica MazdaSpeed Protege with 700 miles on it. We're both very much into cars, and my friends and I are all Mazda freaks (we all have RX7's) so this car was an obvious choice for her. She loves it and can't wait to start modding it after she gets about 2000 miles on the odo.

However, she got the car thursday, and yesterday (saturday) a few of the warning lights on the dash flashed while she was driving but haven't done it since. Now her Check Engine light is on, and if you rev from an idle the car stumbles at and around 1000 rpm. I called Mazda and i made an appointment for wednesday morning. The guy was nice, and said it is probably just a miss-fire, which was my first guess as well. But i was just wondering if any of you had experienced this problem as well?

And last but not least, can someone point me in the direction of a nice looking boost guage that matches the stock lighting of the guages, and a nice pod for the guage? I know in RX7's they make a guage pod for the steering column, does anyone make one for the protege as well? Thanks guys!

www.protege5online.com has the steering column gauge pod, i have it, it is expensive but it gets the job done. I know for a perfect match boost gauge people have been using the 60mm greddy warning gauge with a silver face. But the steering pod is only 52mm. Also some people use autometer phantom gauges, i think they match well also.

here is a pic of mine, i have the greddy white face gauges. They look good during the day but the back lite at night is green, not orange.

If you want orange back lighting you need to get the autometer ultra-lite series. They match perfectly.

thanks guys, I'll be ordering those parts shortly. I'm very impressed with the non-bulls*** attitude of this forum, reminds me a lot of rx7club :) (my home!)

thanks again guys, looks like i have a lot of searching to do!
