so gays ARE people?

I don't see what the big deal is. As a christian I'm opposed to a homosexual lifestyle but I have many gay friends and have no problems with them at all. I don't see why it's anyone's business.

In america we have a seperation of church and State....or we're supposed to at least. If our government is legislating religous views on us then they are blatently wiping their ass with our freedoms.

IMO, marriage is a sacred vow made between two people and God. There is no other form of marriage. Marriage isn't (shouldn't be ) a legal practice or a governemnt control. It's a joing of two people in God's presense asking for his blessing. that's it.

p.s. I'm a registered republican and a member of the moral majority and I'm ashamed to say that nowadays.

yeah.. the problem WITH that, is that Buddhist can marry.. and Buddhism acknowledges gays.
Which religion was around first? Which can lay claim to the word "Marriage".

The government CAN marry 2 people, so it is no longer a religious matter, but a government matter. As the article states, religious center are not obligated to marry 2 gays if the religion doesn't condone the act.

I'd agree with you wholeheartedly if Marriage was, in fact, a strictly Christian thing.

well to me as a christian it IS strictly a religous thing! That was my only reason for getting married....not for the tax break, not for the health insurance...my wife told me we had to get married or break up so here I am!

if youre not gay you should mind your own straight business and let them marry each other all they want.
people make such a big deal about this, like if they dont stop gay people from marrying each other, theyre going straight to hell

Ouch - that sounds pleasant.

i understand your point, but the problem with living with 230million other people and being under the control of a government, what you think doesn't always work. the government isn't christian, so it won't have the same views as you.

but I do understand your point... as someone of the christian faith, you will not acknowledge people that are married by another faith or the state. which is your decision.

you say the government isnt christian...but the president is and he seems to make decisions based on his faith which is TOTALLY wrong in my eyes...seperate the church and state

you are correct. your president is pushing personal beliefs onto millions of non-christians - honestly, how fair is that? you know what other countries push their beliefs onto their citizens? Iran, Iraq, Israel, Saudi Arabia...

Of course i'd rather take a drive through the US than Saudi Arabia, but you catch my drift?

DA,,

US was started on religious beliefs...
IN GOD WE TRUST
ONE NATION UNDER GOD.

JUST LIKE ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL BS........

But Jesus is love, so I love everyone. That's not so easy all the time. Sometimes it is down right hard.
