So did anyone, besides me, drive in Erie today

:
Mazda CX5 Touring with PEP
I was up there at 7:30 this morning. The snow levels were quite impressive. It was up to my crotch in a location that had already been plowed. Supposed to have been around 65"

Negative Ghost Rider...we did not. Dayton is cold, but clear and just inklings of Christmas Eve snow still remain. Most of it has blown away rather than melted. Roads are white due to salt and not snow.

Seems like a dog sled team is more appropriate than a car in that area right now.

You know Kedis, according to my experience, I'd rather take out my wife's CX-5 then my beloved Tahoe in that kind of crazy snow. Having the "honest" lockable 4x4, the Tahoe has not that much to show against CX-5. Particularly if you drive from snow to plowed to clear asphalt. Just my observation, with both vehicles on winter tires.

Although with that kind of snow ground clearance would make a difference. I wouldn’t want to turn my CX5 into a snow plow.

It sure is a snow plow though. We literally plowed snow at Deerhurst resort in Ontario last year. The snow was dry and fluffy, the bumper cover managed well. Climbed some snowy hills too.
Will try that again this year. Hope with Tahoe this time...

We get a lot of heavy wet snow out here in the Pacific Northwest Cascades. I'm not sure I'd want to be pushing that with my CX-5 as one might incur some lower fascia damage. I think the light dry snow would be fine driving through with the CX at bumper level.

I’m in the PNW as well so my thoughts match yours as well. Powder snow would be okay as long as there are no hidden obstructions.

I did not have the CX5 with me in Erie, full size Prevost bus. What has me worried is returning on the 31st with another 1.5 feet coming.

Returned to Erie after Christmas. 2017 Mazda CX-5 pushed snow up my long driveway until it was above the headlights and blacked them out. Made it all the way to the garage. Better snow vehicle than a previous Subaru or Jeep.

Well the trip is over and the trip into Erie was a nothing burger. A lot of snow on the houses and rooftops, plenty of weight up there.
