Has anyone tried putting snow tires on the stock P5 rims? Anyone know if there are any snow tires that would actually fit those rims?

Last winter I ran Michelin Artic Alpins on the stock rims. They fit without any problems. If you vaule your stock rims, get a set of steelies for winter. My rims are pitted and bubbling from the road salt. I got a set of Motegi FF5 for summer and will continue to use the stock rims for winter.

yeah, my rims are pretty much trashed, so for next winter i was hoping to put some snowtires on them and get some new rims for the following summer.

what size FF5's do you have?

They are 17x7 with 42mm offset. I'm running 215/40/17's on them. The are exactly even with the sides of the car. If you intend to lower your car or are aready lowered, you will definatley rub with a 42mm offset. Go with a 45mm or higher offset. I got the rims for free (long story) so I got stuck with the 42mm offset.

Snow and Salt

I've seen snow only once in my life, and I was too young to remember. Here in sunny Florida, we don't have to worry about salt on the road; it's already in the air! It'll eat away at everything if you frequent the beach around here.

drumsbeloud - do yourself a favor and get a set of Nokia Hakka NRW's or WR's for the winter. Unless you live out in the woods, you won't need the 1's or the Q's.

If you're not going to lower your car, run the 205/55/16, it'll throw out your speedo a bit, however you'll get about 0.75 - 1" more clearance.
