FYI if you have the e-bay intake don't mount it to the battery tray. I was teaching my finace how to drive a 5 spd and she killed it and it shook the engine hard enough to break one of the studs on the MAF....Oh well just have to use a shorter bolt and superglue the stud back on....Just a word of warning not to mount it this way.

that sucks. hope your MAF still functions fine after the fix. be sure to use the superglue sparingly or else your finger will be part of the MAF. when you are fixing the MAF, try buying a thick rubber washer that fits between the mount and the brace. this way, it will allow the intake to flex as the engine flexes. just as long as the rubber washer is super soft, it'll help out.

Yeah, It'll still work. That's a great idea about the washer thanks. I think the main problem was I used a bolt too long and cracked it from the get go. My fiance killing was just the straw that brok the camel's back.

Yes, this helps for sure. I didn't mount my intake to the MAF though, i dremeled the hole in the bracket to make it bigger so i could loop the clamp through it. I then used that to hold the intake. works well, and there are no extra vibrations, even when the engine is revved hard.

To hold the rubber washer properly: use a bolt that came off the stock intake as the base, then the rubber washer, then your bracket and another bolt to tighten.

I don't think you should mount it on the battery tray since the battery tray remains stationary. You should mount it to the engine so they move together.

It only takes a little bending and straightening. No need to drill anything or buy anything extra.
