SMT6 unit works!!

I just looked at the pics and you should get rid of that valve cover breather. It will cause problems with the MPI down the road because it's a vacuum leak. I didn't notice it with the stock MAF, but with a larger one it screws things up. You should hook it back up to the intake pipe.

I'm still not clear on why you're using a FMU to increase fuel pressure when you've got the SMT6 wired up and controlling fuel as well...

Congrats on the wiring hurdles though!

the only way to add fuel reliable with the smt is thru extra injectors.
He doesnt want extra injectors. He also came already with the FMU to me.

How exactly did you configure tha analog to clamp the O2?

fuel upper limit = 1.00V (rich)
fuel lower limit = 0v (lean)

then, for example a -100 on the analog map will send 0v, a 0 in the analog map will not alter O2 voltage.

I do not agree for this. More then a few people are adding fuel without extra injectors. Chaz has run for about a year. As high as 12psi at times. No FMU and no extra injectors.

yeah I know, hes having stalling issues hehehehe, bad bov.

Do you have a scan of the dyno?

no, but this car dynoes around 90whp up to 100whp stock, i believe he tried with the turbo @5psi and gave him 130whp, but I told him that it had too much ignition retarded but it was ok 130whp for 5psi.

I dont like the transition when clamping those sensors...yes it makes it add fuel like that, but its harsh when it goes into boost.

Yes the older TMs hit hard with alot of fuel.

The new units are very smooth going into boost.

So on the SMT, how can you be tuning the O2 correctly if it doesn't have 2 lamda inputs in the sys config. Also, you should make the upper limit lower, it is better lower. That is on the MPI, so maybe the smt is different.

Im not tunning with O2, Im clamping voltage to prevent ECU from seeing A/F on boost.

Listen, Im just tunning it to run safe on boost, thats it, its not like my car. Milton doesnt want a super power car, he just wants some spice on his car, remember its an auto transmission, these tends to fail on something near 200+whp on daily use.

Milton is still running 5psi, we all know that is slow, and most likely doesnt need timing to be pulled. Im already pulling a lot on his setup

Update:

Installed MSP ECU, gave us better results; this means, no timing pulled or fuel modification for 7-8psi and still 170whp. Still needs some tunning.

Looks like the MSP runs pig rich on 1 thru 3rd gear and lean on 4th and 5th gear? Ill need to find info about this. But if anyone can guide me, ill appreciate, I dont know how this ECU works.

MAM Rods with modified stock piston!!

i know your post is very old...yes....let the flame begin...

but how good did this set up worked for you?
how did you get both things to match?

thank you

Well, All I have to say is, be sure to find a good machine shop. If the pins have some play in the piston, it will eventually fail on the long run.

I have pics of one of the pistons and the issue with pin clearance.

here are the pics of the stock piston w/ the job done for a full floating.

how much boost can the stock pston take?

On 93 octane, I wouldnt do over 15psi unless you have a good tune, big injectors (+650cc) and probably a J&S to hold for overboost or a ping issue.
