Smoking Tail lights

Hey guys, just got tinted and wanted to tint my rear tail lights, but I want your opinion. I nightshaded the tails on my Integra, but they were hard to see through and kinda dull. With the tints and films there are different shades and I'm torn.... with the teg is was easy, darkest possible on a black car, but now I have a metro gray...... Would a lighter tint make it blend together better??

Can you guys post up pics and say what you used?? Thanks!

Did you use clearcoat after using the niteshades on your integra? Cause it is highly recommended that you do.. lol like I did on my civic.

did some surfing and saw that bluebatmobile or w/e, but the arrangement of the site etc wasnt appealing to my eye. I went with headlightarmor . com ... they are a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. the material is very very thick too as well..hence headlight-armor... as i would imagine with any appliance of this setup it is a pain. unless youre a pro its not going on perfect.--- also they have different colors if you want to hit up the headlights too.

I got the smoke out kit for the taillights and rear reflectors from rockblocker.com It is a thick tint that lays over the lights. I got the lighter of the two options. The The only thing that is a pain is now I can't see when I'm backing up. The combination of tinted windows and tinted back up lights is too much. Not much of a problem though, I just roll down the window. Putting it on was a little tricky, but it went OK. After I put them on I went back and glued down any wrinkles with superglue. I just didn't want to spray the lights so that I could go bak to stock really quickly if I needed to. Here are some pics. If you have any other specific questions feel free to ask.

^^

Wow, I like the way they look and think they will blend in nicely with the metro gray. Of course on a black car I would have gone with the darkest they had ;)

Btw, did you mimic the cut M badge on the back for your wheels too??? Jahaha, that is gangster!

Yeah I cut all the emblems on the wheels into that batman M. I wish I could for the front too, but it wouldn't look right the way it is mounted. I still need to paint it black when I get a chance though. The tint should look great on a grey car. Make sure you put some pics up whrn you are done.

I have a thread open right now about emblems, gloss or flat black on a sunlight silver ms3. What did you go with, flat or gloss?

I'm probably gonna go flat because it will blend into the metro gray better. On silver its a toss up. I'd probably go gloss, but that's me ;)

def a toss up, tho on silver they sort of blend with the paint so even leaving them selver isn't too bad. I think painted emblems looks BEST on black, maybe even red. But I might just leave em chrome since they blend with the paint

I really like your batman emblem tho haha, thats pretty sweet!

My back emblem is gloss. I wanted it to blend in as much as possible becuase I wanted to take it off completely. The gloss blends in pretty well with black mica.

I REALLY wanted to go shaved too... so bad that when someone posted up they got their hatch repainted for $250, the wheels in my head started spinning....

Looks like I'm gonna be going nighshades instead of films. Why? Money problems are creeping up, I won't trust myself to flawlessly install the films (I'm a perfectionist) and I've got a can and a half of nightshades. Now that I know what I'm doing, I'll probably try this on Sunday. Let you guys know how it turns out!

how did you do that to the emblems on the wheels? That looks sick. Very nice.

Well I can't give away all my secrets now can I? They are cut the same way that the rear one is and if you look at a comparison between a stock emblem and my rear you can see exactly what I did.

Consider yourself a creator, b/c i am going to cut my back emblem like that now. It looks alot better then the stock emblem and is a good alternative to removing it completely

(2thumbs)
I can't even take credit for the emblem because I saw it on someone elses car. I agree though, it is a great alternative to taking it off. I'm glad that other people like it and can use the idea.
