Smokey McSmokes!?!?!

Hey there guys, looking for some advice. Took my car in for the fuel pump update along with the ECU reflash. I have had the car back now for close to 2 weeks, however on friday I took my little one to the dog park and and then stopped for some ice cream at the local Carvel, well low and behold as I came back out side I noticed a light billowing of smoke from the tail pipe! It was not huge but it certainly was not black, mind you it was night and the only thing illuminating the smoke was a street light.

Anyhow I have not noticed any lack of performance at all, but I am concerned that this maybe the dreaded turbo seals everyone refers to. Also my car is a 08

Are you modded? Have you had the opportunity to see what color the smoke during daylight hours?

Hi there Speed3rookie, I am completely stock and the smoke looked like a very light thin blus-ish smoke maybe even grey-ish, unfortunately it was at night so it was not entirely clear. However I can tell you it started to happen after about 8 minutes of sitting at idle.

Check out the color of the smoke during the day time. It's actually very convenient for you that you're stock because if the dealership deems your problem turbo-related, you won't have any hassle of changing stock parts back in. If it always smokes, take it to the dealer stat. If it's hard to re-create the problem, carry a camera with you so that if it happens again you can record it.

At any rate, talk to your dealer about it. If you're stock you have almost nothing to worry about. Only when aftermarket parts are involved and "abuse" becomes part of the picture does it get complicated.

Thank goodness I am stock, but it certainly does suck that I have to go and now prove this to the dealership when the problem is intermitent. I thought I was in the clear having an 08, but I guess not.
