I've got a mazda3, it's pearl grey. I would like to black out my taillights. However, I've got a preferred method I would like to use. I would like to use the snap on covers that I've seen other cars use. I just don't know where to find these. So, since I can't find those I am turning to the mazda247. Community to direct me with some info. Before I go searchi g through the depths. Of hell. For those plastic covers, should I just do spray or vynl? Which would you do?

in the end it depends on the finish you want like for example vinyl once you put it on the look is there but if you spray paint you can add more coats and clear coats to get a better finish , however viynl is easier to install i would say , paint you might get runs and its more time consuming so maybe wiegh up what you would prefer

I would avoid spray paint as much as possible. There is a specific material you use for taillights/headlights. I forgot what it was called exactly. It's like vinyl but it's within "legal" limits at least out here in California. Plus if you change your mind, you can just peel it off.

I went vinyl due to the easy removal, my tint guy said they were extremely hard to wrap though.

I also did the headlights.
