the car on the second picture looks like lotus elise but i could be wrong. i disagree with you. to me it looks like a kit car. a very bad put together one.
btw guys, check out the picture of the p5 in europe. the lights are similar to ours but the bottom circle in the left taillight is RED not white like the right side. in europe they can have only (might be a law) one backup light. looks ugly to me but the color of the car is nice. my parents just came over from europe and brought me a whole stack of the car brochures. the passenger's seatback there folds forward. the back seats move forward and back (like the front seats) and the back seat's seatback folds backwards into the hatch area. they also have an ashtray/cupholder for the back passengers, the center console/armrest is indeed higher and they have an option of getting navigation system. DAMN YOU MAZDA. why couldn't you offer these at least as options here. btw, they also have traction control which could be switched off to peel out :)

WTF are you talkin about a Lotus. THat my friend is a Ferrari with the targa top on. how do you figure it is a Louts, if you look at the ass end you can just make out the horse. MAn you need to learn you Exotices, hehe

Not to mention the Ferrari logo/shield on the front right quartepanel right up against the door. That is an F50, or possibly an F50 kit, but it ain't no Lotus.

Trust Me...

It IS a real Ferrari and NOT a kit car. I am not sure if anyone has been to Geneva before, but it is one of the richest cities in Europe. I probably saw 10 ferrari's a day just walking around town. It was amazing. I also saw a Blue p5 (it looked really cool)! But unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me.

Anyway... here are a few more pics .....

not to mention....the wheels....those are classic Farrari stock wheels.

F50

that is a Ferarri F50. Ferrari does not sell kit cars, nor can you get a kit car for that model because there arent any. i beleive there were only 349 between 1995-1997 F50's made, and they are expensive as hell! wouldnt mind having one! 520HP 0-60 in like just under 4 seconds! i am an avid Ferarri fan. my favorite car in the whole world (besides my Pro5) is the Ferarri 250GTO.... drooooooooool!

360

also that pic of the red car is a 360 Modena! very fast as well! you can also tell if you look on the very first picture, all the way on the left near the rear wheel well is words that are so small you cant read them. and that is exactly where thePininfarina sticker should be.

I come from a family that builds and restores race cars. My mentor (and my uncle's), Jim Lloyd is a car builder down in the FL Keys. He has a Ferrari GT born on the same day, same year as me. (Dec 19, 1978). I sat in it, got my picture taken,:D
and then proceeded to break the turn signal branch.(doh)
needless to say, Jim was:mad: (flame2) ................pissed.
Anyway, this thread reminded me of that. Oh yeah, my uncle and I took it out to drain and change all the fluids, we peeeeeeeeeeeled out driving back to the garage.
:wtf: I cant stay on topic to save my life.

Maybe I'm smoking something, but I think that "red backup light" is actually a rear foglight...

That would be correct! That's why it's only on one side. My old A4 had a rear foglight too. Very handy when you have someone tailgating.

You should come to my town

This guy that lives by the resevoir has an F50, F40(two extreamly rare Ferarris), and a 25th anniversary Lamborgini Contach(spelling)!

Yeah, tell me about it!

its an f50, i have a poster of it on my wall. i like the pentagram wheels too, very gothic ; )

That car is only 10 days older than me! :D

Dfricken,

Great thread, and some great pictures!

I totally love the red foglight in the back...Sucks US won't let cars have them here (yet)..

I have noticed some benz's where one side of the driving light is waaay brighter than the other (when driving at night). I don't know if they european delivery'd them over here or what....I also know that the Lexus G-whatever (with the two red lights stuck on the truck not connected to any other lights...) Thats what those lights were originally designed for, rear fog lights....And I agree...Very helpful when driving in rain, and fog!

Volvo's as far back as I know had a "bright" rear fog lamp on one side. This is not a separate lamp, but as you said about the Benz, it is much brighter than the normal taillight. I don't think there's a US law against a rear fog light. It's just that we Americans don't even use turn signals, why would we use a rear foglight???

two exotics were an f-50 and a 360 ferrari
the fun one... the smart car...is off thw hook...when i was in Europe i rented one... it was CRAZY...slow but funny.. How was Geneva... i have never been there

How was Geneva....

Geneva was pretty cool. Pretty expensive, but pretty cool. Climate rocked (80 degrees F every day). Lake was cool and the people were cool. All in all, it is a good town to visit. But I would have to say the night life there isn't that great since everyone goes to France or Italy over the weekends (both are very close). But I am not complaining since I got to go there for free for 2 and 1/2 weeks (work related).

I was supposed to go to Sydney as well, but unfortunately that fell through. I think I would have had more fun there.
