Smart brake and front camera malfunction warnings? 2023 CX-5

So I'm turning a corner after leaving the post office when two warnings flash on my dash and chimes goes off: one about the front camera (I think) and one about the smart brake system failure. They each flashed a couple times then disappeared for the remaining 10 minute drive home. My 2023 Cx-5 has 4900 miles on it. I know it's blazing hot outside--could that trigger the warnings or is it something else? THANKS.

Likely no worries ... It was just telling you the front sensing camera was not seeing the world as it was programmed to (happens sometimes due to moisture on the window inside or out, dirty windshield, sun glare etc) and therefore the SCBS system might not operate and save you from yourself.

Then, soon after, whatever was making the forward camera unhappy cleared itself so the system went back to normal.

Most likely sun glare. If the sun hits the camera just right, it can blind it (overexposure) and it will trigger those alerts.

Yeah, it can be daunting sometimes, but now that you know, its one less thing to worry about the next time it happens.

The errors codes are stored in the ECM history and can be read using a good scan tool. Take car back to dealer for free checkup as car is new!
