ok, i got rid of my 5w 20 oil... got the castrol partial syntech 5w 30... the ppl that changed my oil last time used 5w 20 and it started smelling like that... so ima use 5w 30 and see if it still happens... if it does, than its time to go to the shop...

i hope this works...
You shouild think of getting a compresion check, that will tell you for sure if your motors gone bad and losing oil from the rings.

ah... ok ima make a list to send to the Tech...

1. compression check
2. check rocker arms for rattling noise "its been making a wierd noise inside of the head...
3... anybody care to add?...

I'm wondering why nobody else told you to get that oil out of the motor. Geez, that's gotta be some thin stuff. Might as well fill it with WD-40! I've always run 10w30 in mine since I bought it. (preferably Redline but lately Royal Purple b/c Redline is hard to find around here.) I'm at 45k miles, lately running at 8 psi with some mods, and I've never noticed the slightest change in my oil level in between 5k mile oil changes.

mine uses a lot of oil as well... I think usage specs are like 1qt per 1000 miles, but i would have them take a look at it. I use more than 1qt every 1000 miles, so i'm constantly checking it.

These engines do use more oil than a normal car, so its most likely somewhat normal, just keep an eye on it check for any leaks. Its possible your turbo could be on the way out and blowing out tons of oil out the exhaust or something. Have the dealer fix it!

Don't you have a built motor? You should not be using 1qt per 1kmiles. I don't care if it is spec or not.

Actually, I don't care if its a stock motor, a built motor, or a friggin lawn motor....... (lol) Spec or not, that is to much burning oil....... Even if you burn that much oil after 3,000 miles that would be over 25% of the oil lost, i suspect that the piston rings never seated properly or possibly bad turbo...... You can also never rule out that the boost is taking its toll....... Good Luck........... P.S. you might want to do a compression test.....

Just one last thing, i would recommend 10w-30 straight dino juice.......(you don't really need synthetic, this isnt the most state of the art engine)

Rotary engines use about that driven hard.

well i took her to the shop today... supposibly its a lifter problem... they rattle while the engine is cold... there is enough oil in the crankcase but for some reason it rattles... they are gonna call me and tell me wat there gonna do... i hope its soon, i miss the damn car already...

Not to burst your bubble but our lifters are loud even when new, and i'm not to aware of faulty or worn lifters causing you to burn oil........(unless you valve guides are damaged????)

yea the noise is just the lifters which are noisy mother fuckers when everything is just dandy in the engine. I dont think they would be contributing to the loss of oil.

o and the oil issue, the previous person to change my oil used 5w 20 so it was toooo thin and it burned off... thats all, i now change my own oil and used 5w 30 till summer, ima use 10w 30... ppl recommended me to do that whole summer and fall switch...

ps. so far the oil is still full since last changed...
