As thread title states I have been having an odd slipping noise coming from the passenger side of the engine in my 03' 6s. It only occurs under heavy acceleration right before gear shifts (its an automatic) in ranges where I would think it is going into 4th or 5th gear. I have not noticed the same thing when in manual mode and shifting myself. So is it possible the fan belt is just slipping a little at higher revs or should I have the tranny checked out? Dealership tried to get me to agree to a tranny service the last time I was in there for as a part of "scheduled maintenance" on the car, but I didn't have any issues with it, nor did I have the cash at the time to spend on it. So should i go ahead and let them do it? Also while I am asking what would be the argument for changing out the cabin air filter? Is it actually necessary because they also tried to get me to have that done?
