Slavery is Freedom

Nope, that sea of people would be the minority, the Dean-Moore-Jon Stewart sheeple of America are the minority. They seem like the majority only because they are constantly whining and complaining and protesting like they did trying to save their hero Tookie last week, but in actuality they are the minority.
If they are the minority, wouldn't that mean that they are the free thinkers and the others are the sheep?

Everything so far seems fully Constitutional to me. The program has had periodic legal reviews by the Justice Department and congressional leaders have been briefed more than a dozen times on the program's activities........
The Justice Department works for Bush. The law is for the Judicial Branch to grant warrants or not. And the Congressional leaders were not allowed to talk about what they were told, so what good did that do?

pingdum.....

I don't support the administration on many of the policies and actions, but your title had absolutely nothing to do with what you wrote. There is no Slavery involved. I know what you were going for, sort of an oxymoron, but...no.

I ask all people to use their heads when discussing things. If you are going to bash the President of the United States, have some ground to stand on.

Why do you immediately believe that those that don't agree with you are "sheep", meaning they can't think for themselves, but those that do agree with you are free thinking individuals. It's easier to have the majority opinion, so I would think that's the way the sheep would go. Not that I believe that your opinion is the majority, or mine. I believe the majority is in the middle.

It is just an easy way out. Hell, the Republicans could be called sheep, but I think that that term is (jerkit) most of the time.

If I am correct, the majority of America doesn't support the president. If that were the case, his numbers would be atleast NEAR 45 - 50%.

The title of this thread is an allusion to the book "1984" where the Government uses "doublespeak" to confuse people. A technique the Bush Administration is very good at.

Ooooh burn, ouch man. Orwell, doublespeak... wow, can't stand up to your searing literary analysis of books most of us read in the 7th grade. Where's the beat-off avatar? Funny how the world's leading Orwell scholar is a former editor of the lefty magazine The Nation and now unashamedly pro- liberation of Iraq.

Oh wait there it is. (jerkit)

This is why political threads get a bad rap. He asked about the word slavery in the title, and I explained it to him. I don't see the big deal.
And your comments beg the question, if we all read "1984" in 7th grade, how come we're all letting it happen?

And I don't trust people that switch sides, just shows how phoney they are. Like how Bush and Cheney are singing Joe Lieberman's praises left and right. Doesn't matter that they couldn't bash him fast enough in 2000.

I agree with that, but did you ever notice that the ones who switch sides often are the most zelous, it's as if they have something to prove.

And I don't think I'm a Leftie. No more than Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson. The things I talk about are pure American as far as I'm concerned.

The vacuousness of this thread is sucking out my soul.

Time to put on some Mr. Please Please Please himself. The Hardest Working Man in Show Business. Mr. Dynamite. The Godfather of Soul.... give it up for Mr. Jaaaaaaaaaames Brown!

{seriously, I'm shutting off the 'puter and going to put on my 12+ year old Star Time CD box set}

So I just heard on the radio that they were also tapping calls completely in the US. Spying on groups like PETA with no warrant.

Zing......
I did, I agree he was quite a wus. But I would do anything to get the current administration out. That's how evil I believe they are.
