Hey guys just called to get my free tuner, and antenna. Just wondering how hard this install was and if anyone had some help to offer me. Also where did you put the antenna. Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

It's not hard to install. I did it this past weekend. I put the antenna on the rear deck on the plastic piece in the center. I tried double-sided tape, but that didn't work. I ended up using very strong small magnets. If you have more questions, I can try to help.

Yeah...should be easy to install. The rear deck there is a nice if not rather obvious spot to put it. I'm not sure whether Magnets would affect signal at all, though...if they do there's always velcro :D

who'd you call to get your tuner? i have the MSP kenwood in my MP3...just wondering how to get the ball running on this thing.
Thanks!!!

You need to have bought an MSP to get the offer. Its not eligible with the radio purchased second hand.

How'd you wire the antenna to the tuner, and then the tuner to the radio? Where'd you put the tuner?

Antenna just plugs into the tuner and the tuner uses a special din cable that plugs into the back of the deck.

Yeah the antenna uses magnets to attach to the roof of the car (where it's supposed to go) so I don't see how magnets can affect the reception.

My antenna is on the roof...and I think it looks good...then again it's not the one you get for free it's one I bought @ Circuit City...much thinner and more streamlined.

I always put the antenna on the rear deck, dead center, all the way to the back.

Got the kit today. The antenna is pretty small - about the size of a silver dollar and maybe 3/4' tall, but it has a long ugly black covering for the first half foot of the wiring, so I think i'll put it on my rear deck. i have a few questions that are probably pretty simple.
-where's a good spot for the tuner? I was thinking of under the passenger's seat.
-how do you get the wiring so its not noticable? I was thinking under the carpet but didn't know how to get it in there.
-How do you get to the back of the kenwood stereo without taking it out?

thanks

I read through a bunch of old stuff on here and got a slightly better idea of what to do (I've never really done anything with a car before). I know that to get under the carpet I need to take the trim off the door, but how do I do that? I can unclick some stuff where it hangs down but the flat part (under the silver msp logo) won't come up. For the tuner do you think its safe to just velcro it under the seat, or should it be screwed in? If it should be screwed would slipping plywood under the carpet and screwing it to that be good enough? Also, does anyone know if there's room for the tuner in the big plastic box with the sub? The sub isn't really that big compared to the box so it seems like there would be.

Sorry for all the questions, but like I said, I'm new at this. Thanks

Sounds like you might have gotten the antenna I have...they finally started shipping out the new antenna (the older one was much bulkier)

My tuner is in my trunk...it was convenient because the signal wire goes from the roof down into the trunk. You might be better off putting it under a seat.

If you pull off the trim/molding by the bottom of the doors you can easily hide the wire.
