Sirius Presets annoying Issue

I have had a 2008 mazda3 GT for 3 days and have had a few issues with the Bose audio system already. The one issue I have found a resolution to ,in another thread already. I am working with the dealer on that one already. This other one I wanted to post on this forum because if it is an easy answer I'll feel stupid for bringing it in.....

I can't get the Sirius radio presets to work. I programmed preset 1 and 2 successfully. No matter what I put in for preset 3, it works initially, but when I change the channel and use the #3 preset button to go back it says "Invalid" on the screen. Same goes for presets 4-6 and for SR1,SR2, and SR3.

I can't think of what could be preventing me from doing this. I obviously know how to do it properly since I have programmed presets for AM and FM, as well as presets 1 &2 for the Sirius. Annoying! Any ideas??

Maybe this will fix itself when the service dept fixes the other issue. The other issue is the one where the audio volume level and bass levels are unstable, not sure if they are related or I have a faulty unit.

You might want to have Sirius resend your signal. Call the 800 number, and they can do it real quick. I know that doesn't make much sense, but it wouldn't hurt. Also, disconnect your Battery cable for a minute to force all presets, and info out, and see if that works.

As far as the Stereo is concerned, my biggest gripes about this car are the Shifting, which I will remedy with Short Shifter, and bushings, and the Stereo, which is just crap... BUT, what can you expect for a 22K ride..

Anyway, as far as the stero is concerned, try adjusting the ALC, I keep mine turned off..

Thanks for the reply.

I have narrowed the problem down even further. It has nothing to do with the preset buttons themselves. It is any channel lower than 60. Any channel lower than 60 cannot be made a preset, it will say INVALID CHANNEL when trying to use that preset. I will try your suggestions though and post back.

I also keep the ALC control off. The bass cutting out is a known issue and MAzda is fixing it on thursday supposedly. If I cant get the presets figured out by then Ill have them check it out.

I just installed the Sirius accessory in my 08.5GT and I'm having the exact same problem! Although I found that I can store stations below 60, just not some of the ones above 60. Did you get yours fixed?

Are you sure it doesn't have anything to do with the merger with XM. "Buzzsaw" no longer exists with Sirius, it is now going to be "Boneyard" but currently it is AC/DC radio until they are finished converting. I believe there will be stations being deleted from the Sirius line up and stations added from the XM line up. I don't do a whole lot of surfing on my Sirius, just the one station affecting me right now. Go to the Sirius website and see what changes are happening.
