Hello,

We as family share Nissan Sentra 2017. Accidentally my son poured Techron while filling gas 20 oz came home , didn't tell me about it. I poured the 2nd. 20 oz. since I had told him I would. Then later he tells me he poured a can when filling up!

Now, I am really worried. Can someone advise if I need to dump all the gas, etc.? I believe Nissan full tank is around 13 gallons.

Thanks!

I found this quote from someone on BITOG who sent an inquiry to Chevron:

It sounds like you may experience some oil thickening and fuel dilution, but nothing major enough to harm the engine. I would pull the dipstick to check your oil viscosity at every fill up. Maybe take it easy on the throttle when starting from cold.

In the meantime, I would fill up the tank to full, and refuel to full every time you use 1/4 or 1/2 tank of gas to further "dilute" the fuel system cleaner. No idea if this would actually do anything but it's something I would try. Maybe consider changing your oil a little earlier than usual?
