The artist is Immortal Technique

Send a letter to immortal technique to use some of these scenes and clips for his next video. I'm sure he could come up with a killer beat and catchy lyrics :) Not trying to start a flame war, that rubbish video I just watched rubbed me the wrong way.

I have been very dissapointed this year with Rap. Kanye's album def. picked it up thank god. But the ongoing popularity of 'typical' souther rap needs to stop. I can't even get down with it in the club. Stronger is a better club song than Soulja boy.

Damn...Eminem, Jay, Nas, Lil Wayne......save rap in the next year please.

Btw...Lil' Wayne def. read up on his vocab words or something...he has been saying some crazy sick s*** as of late.

I'm just waiting for the next Lauren Hill Album. I must have listened to "The Miseducation of Lauren Hill" about 600 times when I got that CD so long ago. Its still awesome. Just wish I could be it without the skits!

I know man. What I'm saying is I didn't even look at your screenname before I posted. After I posted I saw what your name was and I thought: He's gunna think I'm messin with him!

not my intention at all. :)

I actually like a few tupac songs but I'm torn because a lot of rap lyrics really go against what I believe. I love "dear moma" and "changes" though. Like I said earlier: Lyrically gifted.

Being a wordsmith isn't as easy as some would make it out to be. All the crappy rappers out today is evidence of that. But there are also several truly excellent ones.

I can agree with that. At least he has a modicum of talent.

Say it ain't so... Lil' Wayne does not have a ghost writer. Jedi Mind Tricks is fierce. I bought two of his albums; I love his delivery, but that dude is so full of hatred. Islamic Extremist FTL...

One of the most impressive displays of wordplay I've ever heard was Canibus' album 'Rip The Jacker'. I swear he had his rhymebook in one hand and a dictionary in another. I'd link it, but I'm lazy...

I should have said "had" a ghost writer writng for him but currently I wouldn't be shocked if he still does. If your really interested in finding out whether its true or not look into it cause its out there. Years ago I did like lil wayne until he started saying he was better then JayZ. (boom06)

I can't see/access the pic/movie/whatever, but I'll bet you're talking about that 'Soulja Boy' or any of the countless other stupid, insipid, annoying dances/dance songs that intantly shoots to #1 upon release down here.

That almost all you hear on the radio here in Dallas. One simplistic dance song after the other. If not that, it's some talentless clown with a Yung Joc level of rhyimg skill...

This is why I don't listen to the radio anymore. I'm not a hater, and give them props for inginuity, but what kind of messages are they perpetuating? bulls***? I didn't even know what that song was until Sam sent it to me in this as a joke on my birthday. His gift was laughter..lol!:

I think everyone is forgetting that the music industry is geared towards making money. I think that you guys are also forgetting that the south was also at one point releasing good music, and was on the top of all the charts. Record labels saw this, and exploited it to no end. Now the market is flooded with talentless artists rapping over top of some catchy beat. Why? because it sells, and its making money. So as long as this "music" continues to sell, it will continue playing on the radio.

Now to comment on the "hip-hop" is dead comment. I agree to disagree. I will agree that the quality of "music" being produced and talents being signed is pitiful. Music is always evolving and changing. Right now Rap is at an all time low in my opinion, but it wont always be that way. Kanye, Jay-Z, Nas, and Common, have all released rather good albums, despite the other nonsense we hear on the radio. My argument against "hip hop is dead", is that this garbage music still sells! Solja-boy's song is the number one download on iTunes right now.... If everybody is complaining about the quality of music, and how rap is no longer good, why are so many people supporting it? Like I said before... if it wasn't selling, then we wouldn't be hearing it.... Somebody has to be buying this stuff....but it surely isnt me.

That pretty much explains it.

So let me just do a pre-emptive strike here..

While this man is is telling the truth about a lot of the rappers out there, I don't like the fact that it is centered on race. I agree with his points, but I think it is more of ignorant people buying into the bulls*** and error, not just white folks.
