I opened my hood today...Yuk:(

Masked off the air filter and all the electrical connections...

Busted out the Simple Green...

hosed it off...

Shiny...Shiny:)

interesting...any scrubbing involved? Also, what exactly did you have to tape up in the way of electrical connections?
Thanks!
I'd like to see pics as well.:)

Sorry...too late for before pics. After pics to come

I just masked all the connections, where there was a plug. Also the coil packs. Also the little box in the upper right, basically anything electrical looking. Make sure you don't leave it on for too long, only a minute or two and then just hose it off.

That's right folks!!!

SIMPLE GREEN is the best in the engine compartment!!!

Yes, Simple Green is awesome. I use it under the hood all the time, hell, I even wash my car with it when I'm lazy. It will in no way harm anything on your car because it's an organic product. Although I'm not sure if it will remove wax. I assume no since it has no detergents or acids.

when hosing it down with cold water its probably best if the block has had a chance to cool down.

I did the whole thing with the engine cold.

Here's an after pic. Sorry it's so bad but I took it with my phone. You can see how shiny it is.

i used simple green alot and after the engine and bay where dry i would use about half a bottle of armorall on the whole thing and just shut the hood and run the car.

never tried simple green, but it looks pretty good. does it come in a foam spray or is it like a pasty cleaner? i use the Canadian Tire Motomaster brand engine foam. works great!

Damn, both of those are very clean. Nice job.

I don't do too much to mine (or just not often enough), but when I do clean it I use Simple Green. Very good at getting "gunk" off.
