Silver vs. Primer black

To each his own... but I want my car to be smooth. No to flat black - if it's your choice, you already got yourself a primer.

Ignore the neck-breaking angle and this is a cool car:

the suede look can be very nice, but I doubt any of those paint jobs were krylon specials

Exactly. Don't use a flat paintjob as an excuse for a little DIY action.

heh, your right my car is somewhat slow. but that is being worked on as i am sure most of us are. i am painting the car black because i cracked my front bumper. i fixed it and it looks totally different then the stock bumper but its made from the stock bumper.

Flat can be cool, but if you use just primer it will soak up water like a sponge and rust the s*** out of your car. Use a primer/sealer that you shoot out of a gun and you'll do just fine. Good luck keepin' it clean!

I've been thinking about it for some time, not for money reasons, just cause I suppose.

Do I have balls yet Marc, or should I wait after the injectors and boost uppage to 12 psi? :D

injectors :) once I hit 230whp I'll be done with the car. so should you!! lol

I can *possibly* see it done on a sedan...A P5 though?? Not sure if it would look good. And like a few others have said, just take it to somebody. I had a buddy that primered out his Civic hatch, and even though he took a lot of time with it, it still just didn't look right. It couldn't possibly cost more then $200 to take it to someone, have them clean up all the dents and spray it.

primer black or flat black looks awesome. not too sure how it would look on a p5 though. i caution you though, the paint scratches easily. go for it though. i've seen a couple primer black cars here, and the look awesome. i was also thinking of doing it to mine, but i'm thinkin of painting pink. haha.

i was going to paint the car today but i took to long to clean it up and tape everything off, so as of now its sitting with newspaper and masking tape all over the windows and whatever else i don't want painted. i will be painting it tomorrow

Are you using a spray gun? Must of been a lot of scuffing if its the whole car.
