side molding adhesive tape

What is the absolute easiest way to remove the double sided tape off the side molding? I've tried everything from the 3m adhesive removal, bug and tar remover, gas, and gone even as far as just spending an hour of picking at it with my fingernails. Needless to say my fingers were very sore the next day. I even let the stuff sit for close to a year to see if the sun would eat it up some but still no good. Any help anyone could give me would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
-If i can get if off it should take away some of the drag and give me at least a 10mph gain.

-Taking notes- Yeah i remember reading about the eraser wheel awhile ago but i dont have one and dont feel like spending the money to buy one for "two minutes." But damn that stuff is crazy. Every once in awhile when i go out to my car to grab a cig, i'll pick at the tape till im done smoking. I really need to get rid of it, im getting tired of looking at it and i know it really looks like crap.

go to a napa auto parts store and pick up the "3m adhesive cleaner". its prob you best best. and pick up a bondo applicator or use a credit card or something similar to that and just go to town. there really no way around doing the work.lol

it sucks, but the outcome is well worth it. trust us. youll be glad you got it all off.

Yeah i've already got the 3m cleaner stuff, but I never thought of using a credit card to scrap it off. Believe me I know its well worth it and i cant wait to get it all off. I've got the front passenger door finished except for the shine it leaves after its gone. I guess a real good hands on waxing is the only way to get rid of it though. But anyways thanks for all the feedback everyone. I appreciate it all. And another diy that looks super good but subtle is to remove the black vynl around the windows. I love it... now im babbling.
