I'm currently looking for a good strut bar to go on my car, but I'm having problems with finding a good one to match my car. Also, i dont want to spend over $160 for one. So i just want to see pics of Strut bars and nothing more or less(it's ok if your intake, turbo, supercharger(only 1), and header is there). thanks for the pics.

see if you can find someone who has one from a Protege 5 that they want to get rid of. It is a pretty easy install on the sedans. astral installed one on his LX in the fall......looks nice!

I don't have a pic to show you, but look at the GT-SPEC strut bar. It would look good.
strut bars etc.

i like that strut bar, but it's pricey. i might get it though, i really wanna spend like a hundred, but i dont have many choices, so i might just buy it.

i had a mp3 strut bar, and i sold it because it was yellow, i want a red one(which a p5 has), but i think i need some type of brackets, and im not spending another $50 on brackets because i have cruise control.

why didnt you keep the mp3 strut bar and get it powdercoated red?

i sold it because it was in perfect condition, such as no scratches or chipped racingbeat decal. also, i needed the money for school books. i sold front and rear sway bars too. i can get a protege 5 strut bar from a junk yard, but they are all messed up(paint wise), and the manager there is selling them at a high price which is stupid.

Is there any noticable handling advantage to getting a new front strut bar in a MSP, or is the one in it sufficient?

Anyone know what the nut sizes are for the strut bar? I lost one nut while removing my intake manifold, and I've been kinda lazy about replacing it.

Natey: Was the install on that bar difficult, since it needs to be attached to the firewall? And it looks as though it will clear the cruise control, yes?

The CC unit had to be moved a little bit, but Essentialspeed included the bracket to move it. (cool)
The install was a b**** and a half, but I made a How-To and posted it here so no one else has to deal with CP racing for any kind of help at all. (crazy)
The brace really made a nice difference. My P5 is on JIC coilovers, and when I installed them, my P5 lost some of it's tracking on the freeway. By "tracking" I mean that my car, when you let go of the steering wheel, didn't want to go straight like it once did. It was much more ...nervous feeling on the JICs. It sure cornered better than stock, but it was a handfull, especially on uneven roads(like 90% of the back roads around hwy9).

The brace really took care of that issue. The car definately tracks better, the turn-in is instantaneous, and it just feels more solid when I take it up to the limit.
IMO, it was definately 150 bucks well spent. If you have coilovers, I couldn't recommend a 3-point brace more. (thumb)

The header's a Wagner shorty. (gossip)

Hey RODSCALIP5 you know whats up, Cusco baby. Oh by the way thanks for the hoses.
