Show me your CX-5 wheels

Hey all,

I'm running 19" M008A, on my 2016 GT... and I'm thinking of changing the look this spring. I have to replace my summer tires anyway, so using this opportunity.

I definitely want to get wider-than-7" wheels (8.0" most likely), but my debate is whether to go 18" maybe.

18", wider tires (235 or 245 max). Hoping for a better ride... but definitely don't want to hurt handling, the main reason I got a CX-5.

Anyone go down from 19s to 18s? Thoughts?

I just did. See my Momo / Falken thread from today.

Looking at getting a set of 20" x 8.5" +35 offset Verde Wheels - V44 Empire Matte Graphite using tire size 245/45R20 for my 21 GT-R lowered with corksport springs.

With the +35 offset 20 x 8.5 wheels with 245/45R20 tires lowered 2.1 inches would I have to worry about any rubbing or any clearance issues?

Here are the wheels with sample pic on the CX-5.

2019 Cx5 Signature (Turbo)

Bought used at around 3k miles in early 2021. Broke 21k miles this week, and my stock toyos are 3/32 and 4/32! And yes, I've had the tires rotated about 3 times. Anyway, time for a replacement!

I'd really like to make the CX5 more "off-road"/softroad capable - although I understand that in reality my driving lifestyle is like 90% road, 10% dirt.

I'm planning on downsizing to 17" wheels for the benefits of more rubber, and I've narrowed my search to Sparco Terra 17"s + Falken Wild Peak A/T Trails (225/65r17, same as stock tires on lower trims, as I don't want to mess with speedometer accuracy; additionally, I think 17" wheels are the smallest diameter wheels that can accomodate the bigger brake system on the 2019 Signature trims and up)

I've attached photoshopped pics, but I'd be cool to see photos from other Black/Jet Mica Black CX 5 owners with similar wheels/colors. I'm really feeling the blacks and whites.

Ideally, I'd add a lift (maybe 1.5 in) but am waiting for more options to become avaible (fingers crossed).

Thoughts?

Best,
Catch

The blacks don't match and ends up looking cheap. Silver looks like crap. White makes it pop. Bronze is subdued and classy. If you could get a gunmetal gray or a dark gray, that would be my first choice. For what you posted though
1. Bronze
2. White
3. Black

Good luck.

I would strongly consider 225/70/17 (29.4") if that is your goal. I was not happy with my 235/70/16, 29" tires, too small. Stock 17s are 28.5". Also, a side benefit of the speedometer offset (which isn't much) is fewer miles (~3%) logged.

How much higher? I've got my eyes on 19 x 8.5 et32's
That’s a lower offset…. Higher would be 45ish territory.

Added these pics to another previous post, but the 35 offset puts you flush to the fender, but these conti’s are super fat and stick almost a 1/4 inch past the actual wheel lip.

No rubbing, lock to lock on corksport springs.
