Right now I am currently starting another savings fund but this savings will be towards a project car! I want ot go back to my Toyota roots and get a MKII MR2 but at the same time I am considering a 240sx. So what I am asking is between those two cars which one of those would be a good project car, cons/pros?

i would go with a 90-91 hatch 240. there are just SOOOO many aftermarket parts for them. you can put basically any engine in there. LSx or the ever so popular sr20. plus you can pick up a shell for under 3k hahaha. good luck! both are great cars.

I agree, stay away from the MR2, they are FUN cars but the parts are much more difficult to fit and the car is just simply NOT functional like a 240.

SR20DETT is the way to go for sure!

As an owner of a 92 240sx I can say theres not a car out there with more parts available. Maybe a civic? But so much fun to drive. And I went KA-T with mine. That routes becoming more and more popular for the sheer badassery of the iron block. Anyways good luck with whatever you do(2thumbs)

bigger displacement in the stock 2.4 ka's meaning more power!! remember kids theres no replacement for displacement! baaaaahahaha now i just sound like my dad lecturing me about muscle cars. lolol =)=) if i had a 240 i'd probably do the same.. its just that there are a million parts for the sr's.

def 240 i say get at least a 91 so you get the dohc plus 91 has the hottest cams, ive driven 2 240sx and an mr2 turbo and the 240 is more fun to drive

This is a hard decision for me to make. Since I used to own a MKI MR2 I love the way they feel and after sitting in my friends MKII it made me one to get a MKII and I am a toyota guy at heart. On the other hand the 240 sounds like a good deal because of all of the options it has to offer. Decisions, decisions.
