Well its through Ken Garff and they give you a 3 month warranty for free because they back up every car they sell. I mean im willing to talk them down but how much do you think i could talk them down?

in your situation i'd try to get them down to at least 12k cuz you're taking a huge hit w/ the jetta already

So if you were in my situation and i got them down to 12k to buy it? But other than that does it look like a good car? I mean its in perfect condition. There is only 1 little scratch on the trunk and that is it and i mean little. The interior is flawless. And i think thats all thats done to it is the hardpipes and bov and upgraded intercooler. but from the looks of the pics are those stock shocks? and i know it has a upgraded rear sway bar

If you end up financing the 18k you'll pay atleast 350/mo for 5yrs.
-Financially I'd look for something in the 7-8k range since she's so upside-down on the Jetta. In a search for a car your first question
should be "how much can I pay?"
However, If you 2 are set on this msp then offer like 11500. See
if they tell you to leave or start bargaining. Like i said earlier, a Pristine
Stock MSP should go for no more than 12k dealer or otherwise.

+1

+2 ... iwas in the same boat...i had a bad ass 01 civic on a lease an owed 4000 in over miles fees...had to roll the cost of the miles into the MSP buy...now i am paying 320 a month for 5 years...sucks but i do love the msp which is something i could never say about that honda...or any honda really (unless you get a prelude or s2000 they are just rent-a-car type vehicles)

Well she can afford around $400 a month. but i think im gonna tell them 12k so it will be at least 3k less. but what if they say 13k should i take it? o and i looked at the carfax report and never repaired or anything. i think someone took care of this car honestly

is she hell bent on getting this car? because financially it would be stupid...you gotta figure you're gonna owe as much on this car as it cost when it was new except now it has over 50k miles and you have no idea how it was driven by the original owner...

if you want it that bad and can afford it then do it...ive worked at several car dealerships in the past and when it comes to used cars the mark up at the places ive worked at have been 3000-4000 dollars. so they can afford to take off at least 2000-maybe 3000 and still will come out on top.

+1 again....youre in a bad position...the other thing you could do is what my gf did when she returned her CTS off the lease...find some ol church going lady and buy her car for dirt cheap and you know it was only going to church and to play bridge. My gf got a 95 mercury grand marquis for 1000 bucks and it only 30,000 miles.

(werd) buy a cheap car thats in good condition and use that $400 a month to pay off the jetta...sell the jetta for whatever you can get for it now...that would be the *smart* thing to do...

yeah and then you'll be happy you have no payments when youre all said and done

I agree with what everyone else is saying. They're overpricing the MSP at the lot, and then you owe more than the Jetta is worth currently as well. It's stupid financially to go that far in debt over a car. Tell her to get a beater (or gently used older car if she doesn't like the word beater) until she can pay off the Jetta. Then you two can look into buying a car at the correct price and finance it properly.

You're gonna screw yourself into too much debt and never be able to out of it since the things you're financing arent worth 17-18k.

(werd) unfortunately you'll never see that price for one at a dealer.

i got mine for 11k at the dealer an 03.5 with 49k miles on it!!! he didn't know what mazdaspeed was and sold it as a regular protege!!! plus he told me the price before he inspected it and put new tires and new "clunk" fix brackets on it and an oil change. bwahahahahahahaha i got them good!
